Like @dfw6000 said, SmartThings has always worked at trying to make all things work together however that's not the way I really wanted to go if I was going to invest a lot in cameras.
This interested me because it looks like a big discount on clearance, these are from 2022.

FYI I think the reason I think highly of The Verge on this topic is author Jennifer Pattison Tuohy, she is very good telling all sides of all the smart home questions without bias to me
I don't mind paying for cloud as the things I want in notifications and recording etc are going to be cloud needed and such
If these are still going to be great going forward or if their security system looks good still I would take a stab

now, should you trust some company on the other side of the world with your wifi network login? with a guest network, always use a different password than your main, and if someone gets into the network, their permission level on a guest network is far less, making it harder to gain admin level access on the router. basically think of it as good practice in security. if you need more information, google "attack vectoring" or "benefits of a guest network."
