I have these and I hate them with a passion. Be aware that they lock at like 5 different angles. Meaning you can't just press the button and flip out or flip shut without it locking at some partially exposed angle. I don't understand the design at all.

You can actually see in the second picture where they lock at. Every other button lock knife I've had is either open or closed, I just do not understand what usefulness is added by these locked slightly open angles.

100% this. In addition to this, the button to release the knife often gets stuck in the pushed in position so the knife cannot be in a locked open or closed position safely.
I bought these knowing they wouldn't be as nice as the Milwaukee FASTBACK knives, but hoped they could at least resemble them in some fashion. Not only do they come anywhere close to the reliability and quality, but it's impossible to whip it open with one hand, even with a heavy wrist flick.
Very disappointed in the quality of these.

Agreed. I loosened up the screws a quarter turn and added a drop of oil and can just BARELY get them to flick open now. It's more of a whole-arm flick, rather than a wrist flick. Once they're locked open they feel solid. Haven't put them through any abuse, though.
Having said that, I don't think I'd have gotten them again, even for around $2 per knife. The cheap folding utility blade from HF feels better and sometimes gets down to less than $5.
These are going in gloveboxes as backups.

no, they are pretty cheap.
I really like the workpro folding utility knives. I've had mine for several years now and they are still perfect. They are light weight, slim, and durable. After a bit of use the folding action is smooth as butter. I also like the deep carry pocket clip. I have the stainless steel button lock version, the also make a black liner lock version as well. You can get a 3 pack for around $15 on amazon, sometimes they are cheaper on sale. I replaced my Milwaukee fastbacks with these workpro because they are so much slimmer.
edit- looks like they have a button lock version with g10 scales in a bunch of different colors also. 2 pack for $12, they look pretty nice https://www.amazon.com/WORKPRO-Fo...le_hi?th=1

If you are buying for a daily user and not a stocking stuffer I highly recommend the Milwaukee fastback models, they go on sale every few weeks.

They are highly regarded for their one handed flip action and even knife people appreciate them.

huh, im surprised to see the hate. These are my favorite style of knives & I no longer use any other style unless it's required to have an extra long blade or something niche. I bought a 3 pack maybe 6 years ago and have always bought singles whenever i lose them ever since and have never run into any of the issues mentioned

They also have this model https://www.menards.com/main/tool...386273.htm Similar style but not quite as cheap. Wondering what the difference is between the two and if maybe this one is better. Anybody have experience with it?
