open box prices are typically correlated on what the 'current' new price is for the M4 base, which changes from $499 to $449. Any new open boxes (i.e. Mac Mini's that are returned during the $449 price) should get the $382.96 price...which is basically a steal since MC Techs are really good with QC

Open box is often practically new. My brother bought a MacBook once on sale but ended up returning it to get the pro. Few days later I went back to buy one for my brother in law and they had the one my brother returned in same condition for $100 less.

Apple wants $50 for the Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter and micro center is selling for only $18.42 but it's out of stock

No, the M4 is the fastest available processor in the Mac Mini. They might make a M5 version next year. This unit is impressive and a bargain at this price.

For precision's sake, there is the M4 Pro, which, while I believe it's the same cpu clock speed, does have more total cores, more performance cores, more GPU cores, and higher memory bandwidth, so I would generally consider the M4 Pro to be "faster" than the M4.

Best Buy would not price match. Their price match policy covered this as micro center is a qualified competitor. The manager was probably the dumbest human I've ever met
