It sounds pretty slick on paper, just keep in mind some considerations:

- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.

While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).

It's equivalent to most Verizon-based MVNOs and Visible's lowest tier.
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.

Here's the taxes for my CA city if anyone's interested

Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29

It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

Has people been successful in canceling the activation charges after online order ? anyone from past experience or have followed the old threads to know? I am trying to decide if its better to order through chat agent who can waive activation vs doing online order and getting cashback from cashback site.

Are there any restrictions from which carrier you are switching from ? I am with cricket currently?

I saw no carrier restrictions. Since there is no port-in requirement, and you can get a completely new number, it makes sense that there are no carrier restrictions...at least that's my thinking. Smilie

Can you sign up at Costco/Sam's in order to avoid the activation fees?

It's just a soft inquiry and they ran Equifax for me.
I have a freeze and so got a warning. I had to unfreeze and then continue via call or chat.

I was tempted, but I don't think the math works out for me. Taking out the couple of phone installments I have and Netflix add-on, I'm at $166 for 8 lines on T-Mobile. I wouldn't mind dropping two lines, which would be $150+ taxes/fees but on Verizon's lowest tier. But 4 (or maybe 6 if they'd allow it) new iPhone Pros. $240 activation + $263 taxes on the new phones. Then the difference in the Netflix/Hulu discounts I'm getting now.
Different circumstances for everyone, but I think I'd be better off just getting people new phones when they actually need them.

I have 2 lines I'm looking to move from another Verizon account and 2 lines from a different carrier. Will that qualify for this?

I'm on Visible and looked into this. Unlimited Welcome is $65/line. We've got a few Visible plans paying between $30-$35/line. So Verizon is another $30/line. $30 x 36 months is suspiciously close to $1,100. Not sure I'm gaining anything by switching unless I'm missing something.
*We're perfectly happy with Visible service (which is Veriszon)

EDIT: The welcome deal gets the $65 line down to $40/mo. So it does come out to maybe another $10/mo per line - although Verizon doesn't include hotspot, etc.

EDIT 2: Visible numbers can't be ported in, and I assume ineligible for the deal.
We ported 1 visible and 3 Att lines with no issues

As Will Wright in SimCity 2000 would say to being stuck waiting for the bill credits for 36 months: "YOU WILL REGRET THIS!"

(I speak from experience, 11 months in.)

Visible is eligible for the deal just takes a bit more work; I had 3 lines "ported in" from Vz from last years deal.

Can you take the deal with 4 new phones, but so not use the new phones? Continue on old phones on this plan and gift the phones to someone else after unlocking?
