It sounds pretty slick on paper, just keep in mind some considerations:

- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.

While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).

It's equivalent to most Verizon-based MVNOs and Visible's lowest tier.
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.

Here's the taxes for my CA city if anyone's interested

Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29

It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

just a heads up to people whose order was cancelled. the phones were returned to verizon warehouse and I received the refund of taxes today. however I got an email saying your device promotinal credit has been removed from your account. it doesn't make sense. The account should be closed. guess what, I called Verizon contact number and the account is still active and there's a service bill waiting for me. thank god, I called and these numbers I've never used/accessed were 'disconnected,' and I was told the charge would be credited back.

For those that have done T-Mobile keep and switch, I got a question for you. I was reading the terms and it says you have to bring over/use same phones on T-Mobile that you are claiming the $800 rebate on. The IMEI for the phones you bring to T-MOBILE has to be same as the IMEI on your previous carrier bill/device payment plan. How strict is T-Mobile with that? Anybody with experience want to share some thoughts.
Yes. I believe it's manually reviewed and the terms require that you activate the device that is being paid off and reimbursed. In my experience they do not match IMEI because Verizon does not publish it with the payoff documentation that's available for you to submit to TMobile. I'm sure they check the model though so make sure you at a minimum activate the same model or risk denial.

How long did take between them receiving them back and you getting a refund of taxes?

A store agent was able to add $20 credit for 36 months to my account in lieu of the $300 card. So $106.01 after taxes for 4 phones. Did I do it right by selecting $20 for next 36 months instead of $300 instant credit? The store agent says since she added $20 credit I will not be able to submit the 300 gift card claim.

We have a option to chat and waive of the activation fees. Choose store pick up to avoid cancellation. Remember to ask the rep to add the 300gc card to cart. They forgot once and i had to go through cancellation and get another order in. Any CB link that you used will be lost as they kind of add everything again at their end. So its either cb of hundred or 160 activation waiver
Why do you say CB is lost? Do you not place an order using a link provided by the agent (that still maps back to Verizon)?

Well as of right now I am verified with Verizon and can do second order as long as I put up the total value for all 5 phones I've ordered as my credit limit is spent. After they get my phones from FedEx they will credit me back? I'm not putting $5k in limbo so I'm at a standstill. Now FedEx has my phones and they have traveled from Binghamton NY to Newark NJ back and forth about 4 times. FedEx is just as bad as Verizon. They told me two days ago my phones were being recalled by Verizon. Yesterday they were going to be delivered by 5pm to me they said. Now today they don't know where they are.
Yikes. Hope you get it sorted out soon. My FedEx has not provide any new updates at all. The latest tracking update is that the phones are at one of their hubs. But yeah, we got the worst combo...

Here's my experience so far.
I followed OP's step-by-step instructions and, at Step 14, initiated a chat to get the $40 activation fee waived per line. I saved my cart and shared it with the rep to speed things up. That part took about 40 minutes.

When I placed the order, I unfroze my credit for the required "soft pull." Between that and having the shipping address for the five phones differ from my billing address, my account ended up getting flagged. The chat rep told me to call the Fraud Prevention Team. When I did, they emailed me a link to upload my ID and a utility bill, which I submitted immediately. That still wasn't enough, and they asked for a copy of my SSN card and an additional utility bill. I was hesitant, but I uploaded everything through their portal and was approved almost instantly. After that, I received two emails: one confirming the order was completed and another saying it was approved.

The frustrating part was that I never received any email about the $300 gift card. I chatted with about five different Verizon reps and kept getting bounced between the sales and service teams, with no clear answer. Eventually, I found the rebate link and promo code in this thread and submitted it myself. To this day, I still haven't received any rebate email, it doesn't show on my receipt, and the status just says "Pending Validation."
Shortly after the order approval email, I received a shipping notification for 2-day delivery around 5 p.m. The next day at about 2 p.m., all five iPhone 17 Pros arrived via FedEx and required a signature. I didn't have time to activate everything that day, so I waited until today and activated four of the five lines—this is where things got a little weird.

First off, the chat CSRs are a joke. None of them seemed to know what they were talking about. One rep told me—after a 30-minute wait—that my order was canceled. Another said the order existed but didn't show the $300 gift card. Someone else said I'd receive it later and to wait a week. Everyone gave a different answer, so I wouldn't trust anything unless it comes directly from an official Verizon email.

When I signed up, I didn't enter my previous carrier account number or transfer PIN. Because of that, I had to contact the port-in team afterward to provide that information. I'd strongly recommend doing this before activating any devices to avoid issues.

The port-in rep was honestly the only knowledgeable person I spoke to at Verizon. She immediately explained the status: two lines (mine and another family member's) were released by T-Mobile and activated without issues. The other three lines are scheduled to be released on Monday at 10 a.m., which is what T-Mobile sent over to Verizon.

Once the first two lines were activated, the old phones lost T-Mobile service and the new devices worked fine on Verizon. The other three phones still have no service, and when I tried activating them, I got eSIM activation failed errors. This is why I recommend completing the number port-in before activating the devices. There weren't any clear instructions, so I learned as I went. I've already activated all five phones at the hardware level—three just don't have Verizon service yet—but they should activate normally once the port completes on Monday.

After activation, I chatted with Verizon again about the $300 gift card. They confirmed they can see my rebate submission. They couldn't verify my Friends & Family discount from a Verizon employee, but that's equivalent to about $25 per line, so it's not a huge deal.

Right now, my estimated bill shows $210 including taxes and fees for five lines. When I asked about it, the rep said it should drop to $160 once I set up auto-pay ($10 off per line). So $210 minus $50 equals $160 all-in. That's not bad. I was paying $180 with T-Mobile for eight lines, though only five were actually in use (the other three were free).
I'll update once the remaining three lines port over on Monday to see if everything goes smoothly.

Final tips:
  • Start the number port-in first so T-Mobile can release your numbers before you activate the devices. Verizon says this can take anywhere from 4–24 hours. You can check the status here: https://www.verizon.com/switch-to...ck-status/ [verizon.com]
When it shows "ready," it means your number is ready for Verizon service once you activate—it doesn't mean the number has already moved.
  • Call the Fraud Prevention Team right after placing your order, even if you don't think you were flagged, just to make sure there are no issues.
  • If possible, do in-store pickup to avoid FedEx issues that could result in phones being returned and the order getting canceled. I couldn't do this since no store had five iPhone 17 Pros in stock.
Hope this helps anyone going through this crazy shitshow. Fingers crossed everything finishes cleanly on Monday.
how do we call the fraud prevention team? and how do we know it was flagged or not? i placed an order at different address because i am visiting family for few weeks whereas my billing is where i live.
