- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.
While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.
Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29
It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

Monthly Cost =$100 - $45(Switcher Discount) -$20(Better Discount) = $35 + Taxes. Say your taxes are $7/line that means you are looking at $63/Month.
For 3 years = 63 X 36 = $2268
So you get phones worth $4400 + Service for 3 years for $2268.
That means you are a ahead by $2132 that does not even consider the service.
So what am I missing?
Also I uploaded the bill and got the 45 discount. I'm thinking of opening another account on my partners name using the same bill and get another 4 phones. Nowhere they say we have to port the number to get the discount.
IMO people should buy these just to get cheaper phones over period of 3 years and not worry about the service etc..
There's another angle too: the Tmobile keep and switch program
If I play my cards right, I'd get all of the above, keep service on Verizon for six months (clawback of 300 gcs if leave before six months), move to Tmobile to get phones paid off, and then leave Tmobile back to Tello or Mint or what have you
This isn't even that convoluted an offer. No need to talk to any rep if you do the above (except activation fee refund via chat) and should be seamless
I'll report back of course
First, you need the first phone in hand to activate, make an account, and log in to add the 2nd Line.
Then, you need to wait until the 2nd line is Shipped before you can do 3rd Line. Same for 4th Line.

The promotional plan prices appear to be $50 of the "standard" prices. I'm trying to get answers to:
1) In the 37th month, will all of the lines jump up to the "standard" price (whatever it is at the time)?
2) You can assign plans to lines at the initial purchase, but if you need to shift a line from say Welcome to Plus, will the rate jump up to the "standard" rate for that line?
I can't get anyone, chat or on the phone to give me an answer to the 37th month question. They give up, say they are transferring, and then leave.
I can't believe no one has asked what happens in the 37th month

when I called the rep, referred to the holiday promotion 4 lines free phones and $100 welcome plan and asked about the above $20 (better) +$45(closure) discount on top of the $100 monthly bill but no luck so far.

I'm probably showing my age, but to me Verizon always meant CDMA modems that locked you into either Verizon or Sprint. ATT and TMobile used GSM so it was a bit like picking a team. I'm presuming that Verizon iPhones can be unlocked and used on ATT and TMobile (or Mint, etc. etc.). Is that correct?

Be aware that if you do all 4 lines separately, the 1st bill will be generated in a few days, and only reflect the charges of 1 line.
The rest of the Lines will be reflected on the upcoming bill, and will be high since they charge a full month, and the partial month that Bill # 1 did not reflect.

Be aware that customer service is horrendous and trying to fix my bill to get credits was frustrating. Ultimately, I didn't feel like putting forth the effort to wait three months to port out to T-Mobile and flip the two lines I didn't need.
This deal is best if you're good with 4 lines and are planning to stick with Verizon. IMO, way too many horror stories on credits showing up and disappearing month after month.
