It sounds pretty slick on paper, just keep in mind some considerations:

- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.

While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).

It's equivalent to most Verizon-based MVNOs and Visible's lowest tier.
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.

Here's the taxes for my CA city if anyone's interested

Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29

It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

Yeah - I figured that would need to happen, but every month could be more than double the cost until it is sorted out.
I'm probably showing my age, but to me Verizon always meant CDMA modems that locked you into either Verizon or Sprint. ATT and TMobile used GSM so it was a bit like picking a team. I'm presuming that Verizon iPhones can be unlocked and used on ATT and TMobile (or Mint, etc. etc.). Is that correct?
Assuming you are doing the 4lines, -20 national discount and -45 discount will expire in 36months. So expect to pay $120 or $100 a month plus tax depending on better deal discount status.
For verizon, phones are locked for 60days and can be used anywhere after. Beware some have reported verizon keeps the phones locked untill the phone is completly paid off, but not sure how true this is.

Yeah - that last bit gives me pause. If they wait to unlock, then perhaps you would have to stay on the elevated prices for a few months to get that sorted out. Maybe not. Right now, I have the grandfathered T-Mobile unlimited plan for five lines for $200+taxes and fees, but absolutely no offers for upgrades whatsoever. Feel like they don't care, and they probably don't. But the full price Verizon equivalent service for those lines would likely be well over $400.
BTW - I did get an answer to the tier change question. I was told that if I need to change tiers (e.g. from Welcome to Plus) then the promotional rate would not apply. So basically I would need to decide who needs what level of the plan up front and then stick with it for 3yrs.

Guys is that normal that National Discount is $0 here in the purchase receipt? And also autopay discount not included in estimated ongoing monthly? I hope it will be applied after activation.

Agreed. I'm switching from Mint so I'm going the order one at a time and get 300 gc per order and via chat get activation refunded and then 20 port out discount per month, and hopefully a cashback site kickback on top There's another angle too: the Tmobile keep and switch program If I play my cards right, I'd get all of the above, keep service on Verizon for six months (clawback of 300 gcs if leave before six months), move to Tmobile to get phones paid off, and then leave Tmobile back to Tello or Mint or what have you This isn't even that convoluted an offer. No need to talk to any rep if you do the above (except activation fee refund via chat) and should be seamless I'll report back of course
So I bit the bullet. Mostly worked perfectly

Ordered first phone, got 300 gc to apply, went through one cashback portal which tracked

Then activated it and set up everything on Verizon account and added a line. Did same 300 GC offer and went through another cashback portal. That went TBD on whether it tracked

Then once more for another phone

The fourth one I'll do tomorrow

Question: the 20 dollar portout thing shows up in the port out page, I click check offers, and then it takes me to the My Offers page that says "we are working on some new offers for you..." but doesn't show it

Is that one gone?

i think it is. i noticed the same on my receipt but fall back is my quote which shows everything. plus i'm less concerned as the National Discount is the main promotion going on now. Here's what my quote looks like:

Monthly charges:
National Discount Marker $0.00
$45 CREDIT X 36 MONTHS -$45.00
$20 BETTER DEAL 4+ PHONES -$20.00
NATIONAL DISCOUNT - 3+ LINES -$20.00

Hello! Congratulations. While ordering the phones in multiple times, are you using the same account so that all the lines are combined to qualify for $25 welcome plan? Thank you

Yes, exactly

Same account, merely adding lines, one at a time

Yeah that makes sense, thanks! Also I called them to double check and rep said national discount should be in the bill after I receive phones and activate my account. Last step is trying $20 port out thing.

Not that anyone needs my life story, but I did the deal and ended up porting out and returning the devices. Primarily, as I only need two lines and it's not advantageous unless you open or need 4 lines. Be aware that customer service is horrendous and trying to fix my bill to get credits was frustrating. Ultimately, I didn't feel like putting forth the effort to wait three months to port out to T-Mobile and flip the two lines I didn't need. This deal is best if you're good with 4 lines and are planning to stick with Verizon. IMO, way too many horror stories on credits showing up and disappearing month after month.
Yeah I agree with you

Initially only two of four in family needed new phone

But I decided to leave my free Spectrum service (still eligible for few months yet) and port

For the new phones, and with the 3x300 GCs that were pretty easy to set up, it seems worthwhile so far

Will it be easy to actually get the advertised discounts and all? I hope so. They show in the projected bill area pretty clearly

I agree that customer service is terrible. Been sitting in chat for hours now....

I end up doing his plan 1 Last week, since I'm bailing in 6 months.

1. Click Cashback site
2. Ordered 1 line w. $300 Rebate for instore pick up.
3. Picked up and activate. Redeemed Rebate.
4. Repeat same process 3 more times. 4 rebates are pending now.
5. Chat with CSR and asked for $40 Activation credit x 4 Lines.
6. Went to request port out PIN, and received $20 off per line offer for 12 months.
Did you redeem all 4 to the same email?

I was in a very similar situation with 6 lines unlimited for 100 a month and made the move this time. So yes, the welcome plan probably is an inferior service to what we used to have with no hotspot, international service, ect. But assuming you pay around 230 a month after tax, cost difference for you is $10,340 in three years ($5940 in service, $4,400 for 4 new iphone pros). For the money difference, I'd just make the move and move back to tmobile after 3yrs.

Tried to upload my bill and was told it's been "tampered with". I already have a bad taste in my mouth. Thanks, Verizon!
