It sounds pretty slick on paper, just keep in mind some considerations:

- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.

While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).

It's equivalent to most Verizon-based MVNOs and Visible's lowest tier.
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.

Here's the taxes for my CA city if anyone's interested

Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29

It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

I just returned from a Verizon store and I received a very good deal. I took my T-Mobile bill with me, and the sales rep applied the following discounts:
National Discount Marker: $0.00
National Discount (3+ Lines): −$20.00
"Better Deal" for 4+ Phones: −$20.00
Promotional Credit: −$45.00 per month for 36 months
This brings my monthly bill to $101.21 before AutoPay, and $61.21 after AutoPay.
No trade-in required or anything. I got the phones, and my receipt shows the above discounts.
I'm concerned that the deal I got is too good to be true and wondering if there's any hidden catch that I'm missing.
Thanks for this post. I followed your lead and did VZW in-store to capitalize on this great offer! Question for Promotional Credit: −$45.00 per month for 36 months ($45 CREDIT x 36 MONTHS), did your in-store sales associate mention that this required VZ Mobile Protect MD 4-20 LINE for $68/month?

The associate added it but provided me credits to cover the first month but mentioned I would need to pay for the second month of VZ Mobile Protect MD 4-20 LINE and cancelling before 2 months of coverage would disqualify me from $45 CREDIT x 36 MONTHS promo.

Anyone else have a similar experience? Just wondering if I can cancel after month 1 as $68/month is killing this slickdeal

The associate lied to you. Most likely the associate gets a commission for the protection plan sale as long as you stay for 2 months. And no one else has mentioned so far needing to buy this plan in order to get the discounts.

The problem is that they charged me for a period when I hadn't even received the phone yet, I hadn't used their services, and the phone wasn't activated. They charged me for the period from November 8th to December 7th, but I received the phone on December 8th, even though the order was placed on the 5th.
it's because even though it's called postpaid you actually pay for one month of service in advance, the problem is though the way they write it out looks really stupid because it looks like what you said, that you weren't even a customer on that initial date range

I got this , but the first month bill is so confusing. I was able to get the activation fee waived off.
Can anyone explain how the billing works.
3 lines got activated immediately , 1 line activated after the billing date cut off.

Yeah, because it was after the billing date, that affected price for all three. You can contact them and tell them to fix it in past one and say it was because took too long to activate. When I did that, they just applied promos to all my upcoming bills, which I can live with. I'm waiting to see how second and third month bills look in the end aside from what's projected etc.

I m trying to upgrade my wife's phone from iPhone 14 pro to iPhone 17 pro. she is on mint mobile and the cheapest option out there. Is there any catch to this family plan (other than monthly charge of 25$/month of which will 32$ with taxes I hope + one time fee for activation etc) ? will there be any plan charges aside from this?

How many ultimate and plus lines in your plan? Also, is 138 including auto pay or without it?

I ended up going into the store and working with the manager (this was on New Year's Eve and the store was empty). We got four lines (two Plus and two Welcome), four new iPhone pros, activation fees waived, etc. With all discounts, it came to $109 per month total for 3 years. When I asked about the $300 gift card, he gave me a $400 bill credit instead.

We came from regular AT&T and had the bill in hand. With AT&T, we were paying $180/mo for two lines - no perks, no new phones, nothing.

For those on the Unlimited Plus plan, how much is your monthly bill before taxes per line? I see unlimited plus is offered at $40 so I am guessing $15 more compared to welcome plan ($25)? Thank you
