Damn is anyone ever going to call out lego for price gouging? 540 pieces for $60 dollars? People don't like to talk bad about lego because its a great toy but they are really out of control.

It's not price gouging if everyone is willing to pay. It's simply the market.

Don't forget they have to pay licensing on that to Nintendo. Wouldn't be cheap regardless, but takes an already high price and bumps it up.

Then explain their crazy prices on Friends, City and other non-license sets. They're almost equally as bad. I've mostly sworn off Lego and moved on to smaller brick brands like Lumibricks. Much more bang for your buck.

Yes, people call Lego out ALL THE TIME for price gouging (see: X-Men jet posts, Lego map/artwork posts, "dots", etc.)
Hopefully your day gets better and you don't feel the need to unnecessarily complain about a thing that constantly happens not ever happening

FYI, it uses a small ball joint for the "neck" which is incapable of holding up the weight of the head, so pose-ability is limited.

For years their model was throw a bunch of stuff at the wall, if it hit, make more, if it didn't discount, discontinue. Now, they are far more capable of tracking what sells in real time.

That's what happens in oligarchies with intelligent manufacturing. It's no longer supply and demand that controls price. They can see how much something is or isn't selling, and they can switch easier from manufacturing x to y. So then they supply just enough to keep the price high or rising, and if a set or series fails, they would rather take it back and destroy it rather than have it sit somewhere, go on clearance, and get bought by someone looking for an "inexpensive" set.

How are you gonna solely call out lego, when it's literally everywhere. This is just how late stage capitalism works.

Someone in this thread is giving everyone a thumbs down 😂 I went through and gave thumbs up to everyone above me to counteract the Karen giving the thumbs downs.

Any guess who it might be? 😂
