Anyone ever try these? Most of the other carbon plated running shoes are about double the price.

I've got two pair of AP4s. They've got carbon rods instead of a plate. The foam's pretty soft but was comfortable on the runs I've done in them - nothing past 10 miles so far but I'll be throwing them into my long runs at the end of a marathon block and likely using for my marathon.

Main problem seems to be people that like the firmer AP3 foam and issues with rods cracking.

I have 2 pairs of AP 4 and really love them. They feel great and feel fast. When you start running, you can almost feel the propulsion. The only suggestion is to get true to size or size up, as the toe box is tight.

They fit a tad on the small side. I'd Suggest to go up a size

Used the AP3s in 4 half marathons as well as a few long speed workouts.I really like them. Not as "speedy" feeling as something like alphafly but really stable and plenty of push in them. Not sure about the 4 but the 3 had a decently wide toe box. I usually wear a wide but was able to use these without trying to stretch them out.

There are several active deals on them, including this one. I suggest search evo sl to see the others.

Evo SL is good for a lot more use cases and miles. These are primarily long road race shoes.

They're for completely different purposes.

these would normally be double the price when they're not half off

+1

AP4's are just so good for racing. I've taken my Evo SLs for a race up to half marathon, but Pro 4 feels so much faster
