Awesome, thank you. I recently borrowed this from a friend for a brisket smoke. Was impressed with how well it worked. Temps were on point with my Thermapen.

Wow. I just looked at the recent reviews on Amazon and they're terrible. Good luck.

I would skip this, bought it at target 6 months ago, pulled it out for the first time on Thanksgiving and it didn't work, there's a replacement in the mail coming but I wouldn't expect much from it

Help me understand your reasoning. Just because yours didn't work, you expect that everyone who buys this will get a dud?

I have the previous dual probe model. Dead after 6months as neither probe connects to the base.

I had someone mentioned that if you wrap with foil these don't work. Any comments about that?

I've wrapped both in foil and in paper. TBH, I use paper more but would like to know anyway if any issues with foil.

I had no problems using it when I wrapped my brisket with paper. When I get mine, I'm going to try it when I wrap ribs with foil.

Hoping for the best. Seems like all of these "more affordable" wireless BT thermometers suck in one way or another. Only one that seems to be reliable is the ThermoWorks RFX. But even then, it too seems to have issues...
That being said, my friend has had his ThermoPro for over a year now and it's been working. As mentioned in my OP, I borrowed it for a brisket cook and it worked well for me as well which is why I decided to pick one up. Guess we shall if I get lucky and it lasts.
