People with disabilities for one. For me, I have an adjustable arm clamped to my tall night stand. It puts the e-reader far enough above my head that I can't reach it (by design so I don't hit it at night and have to take it down and wake my wife up). It's also nice to be all tucked under the blankets while reading (we like it cold). Not having to hold it gets more more relaxed for sleep and doesn't bother my ulnar nerve issue.

You're in bed and have the Kindle resting on a pillow with the blankets up around your neck. When it's cold you don't want to have pull that arm out to change a page. Also, for $5 you could probably find some other purposes for this.

Apparently you have to re-pair it each time you turn off or suspend your Kindle!

No. It's a remote finger, kindle or phone/tablet is irrelevant. you need to re-clip it for sure

When would you possibly need this? When would you be reading a kindle where you can't reach the side of the screen?

I just got one as well. I use it with my pillow tablet stand on my lap as I have neck and shoulder issues holding my tablet to look down. Very good for people that have disabilities.

When it is cold and you are under a blanket. Keeps the hands warm underneath without being exposed.

FYI, don't need to be a prime member for the deal or coupon code.

Mine is on a cellphone arm above my head attached to my headboard so I get to keep my arms under the blankets.
