The description says this is the old 320-lumen / 15-lumen beam, but I asked a question and a "Scheels Expert" responded that it is the 600 lumens (and 15-lumen) version. I get 9% back on Paypal that stacks on this. It is not the latest and greatest, but I have the old version and it is a really reliable light.

Surefire has been sucking hind tit on flashlight tech for a looong time and surviving off government procurement contracts for a while.
Granted, a lot of theirights are almost bomb-proof, but waaaay overpriced, underpowered, & based on old tech. Streamlight eats their lunch regularly in nearly every category that matters.

Okay, but . . . is this a good deal on this flashlight? Legit asking because I don't know, and I'm in the market for one.

Thanks. I agree that surefire is generally behind and overpriced compared to Streamlight (and others), but, but I was thinking a g2x to keep in the car or garage for around $40 (with the cashback), seems decent. I have the older model and I still use it regularly. Its not the brightest or best, but is very reliable and rugged. I have a couple of more expensive surefire models that I like a lot too. I prefer a zebralight as a go to utility light, but those are now $100+. I looked for streamlight deals around black friday and did not see similar models around $40, that said, I am sure I will be corrected by fellow SD'ers!
