We just went from a 12, 12 mini and 13 mini on MINT to all 17s on Verizon with their holiday deal. Our bill was like 20 bucks more per month. Might want to check it out. Oh o do get a $25 teacher discount and the autopay
I have grandfather plan. If I want new phone, T-Mobile want me to get to their most expensive plan which will increase my bill at least 50%.

What plan do you have? Grandfathered plans are not getting anything beyond the $300 trade-in with T-Mo unless you get a rare loyalty offer. VZ and ATT both have decent offers during these holidays though they are 36-month compared to 24-month for phone deals with T-Mo.

I know it a grandfather plan since I joined them in 2003. I think they call it something like essential. I'm thinking of switching carrier to get 4 phone upgrades.

I hope you mean 2023, if Essentials as it is a relatively new entry-level plan with limited promos for new customers but not for upgrades.

I just checked my bill, it's called Simple Choice. No, I joined back in 2003; I'm a loyal customer. I recall that in 2012 or 2013, they converted me to a specific plan when I switched three Verizon lines to my current T-Mobile plan. I now have 9 lines total. Every time I called them, they told me I had the best discount. In order to qualify for a phone upgrade, I need to: trade in, add a line, and convert to their higher-tier plan.
I'll wait for Verizon to have the iPhone 17 free deal to switch over and buy an older phone for the trade-in with Verizon. Don't want to hand them my iPhone 14 as a trade-in.

I was with T-Mo 2004-2016 on a grandfathered two-line N&W plan which eventually became fully unlimited. Had to port out due to limited phone promotions and eventually returned as a new customer 5 years ago on Magenta. Moved to Magenta Max after two years of joining to make use of higher trade-in values. After a year, Go5G+ was introduced downgrading MM so moved to that and been on that plan for the past two years.
We got Insider discount when we joined, so we started with a reasonable discount. When T-Mo gave free lines, we added some and a couple of BOGOs. So, we are now at a heavily discounted 11-line plan with 6 free lines. No prepaid comes close to the average monthly service cost per line (~$12.30). So far Go5G+ still has same promos as Experience More, but we are currently tax inclusive. I am sure they will screw it up next year. So, will need to upgrade as many lines as possible before it gets worse.
You may need to port out and port back after 90+ days to get better deals. Keep & Switch works if you like T-Mo and want to port temporarily and bring a device along.

You got 6 free lines? That's interesting because I tried to add additional free line in the past, T-Mobile told me I can't because I already have 2 free lines from them, and that's the max per account. I don't think I want to do anything as complicated as you did. I just switched and got a promotion from whatever the next company is. I need my line to stay the same since those are my business lines, and I don't want any trouble with them.

I as a 12 mini owner have to ask u. Do you honestly missed your 13 mini? Small form factor is nice on hands, don't u agree?

I used to have Simple Choice. That plan was $50 for first line, $30 for second line, $10 for lines 3 to 6, and $20 for lines 7 to 10. Definitely compare you current average per-line cost against any new Verizon or AT&T plan costs that'll give you a free iPhone 17; check if it makes sense to just buy new iPhone 17s outright.

For me, Magenta was the current plan when those standalone free lines were offered in 2021. We started with 4-lines with 3rd line free. Then added 3 free Line on Us, then two paid lines and one BOGO. Before I upgraded to Magenta Max in Oct 2022, I ported out two paid lines and brought them back in Feb 2023 as BOGO, increasing the number of free lines from 5 to 6 and has been that way since.
barely a deal. you can get a new iphone 15 or 15 plus from Walmart for $300. Although its locked to ATT, you can either pay 2 months service and it will unlock, or sim swap to try and unlock immediately. If those hassles arent worth saving $200 to someone, then why are you even here. Either that 15/plus deal or the $150 iphone 13 are the best deals rn in my mind. HM to the iphone 14 + year from visible if thats still up and verizon is the best service in you're area.
VZ prepaid brands come with good deals from time to time for port promotions where you get a decent 2–3-year-old model for cheap with two-month service. You need to find a cheap number to port to qualify in some cases.
This is good for someone who needs an unlocked new phone right away with no frills.
