829 for 2 gen newer. Why is this a deal?
Agreed. It's a no-contest between the 17 vs. 15
Double the base storage (256 GB vs just 128), 120 Hz display, Always-on option, larger screen (6.3" vs 6.1"), more RAM (8 GB, vs just the 6 that doesn't allow for on-device A.I.), much bigger Battery capacity (easily all-day), far better cameras, including a significantly improved front camera, spatial video, Macro mode photography, more photographic styles, Action button, Camera Control button, and at least 2 more years of support, although I'd say at least 3 years, due to the 3-generation difference in chip architecture (A19 chip vs just A16)
It's simply night and day.

We have two iPhone 15, one 16 and one 17 in our family. 15 is as functional as the latest for regular use.
This deal comes down to - do you see value in saving $300 by not going for the 17, especially if you have a really cheap monthly service deal going (Visible+ Pro half off, $15 Mint or Total Wireless, etc).
You come out ahead in the long run if you plan to keep the phone for at least 3-4 years with cheap prepaid and paying upfront for the phone, personally, 15 isn't bad. 16 is not worth unless it comes down significantly in price especially when 17 is twice the storage to start.
This is quite a decent deal to pair with a cheaper prepaid.
Don't upgrade it to ios26, battery live horrible or should i say they killed ip15?
My 15PM is still on 17. Some apps require 18. might as well upgrade to 26 if I plan on swapping out the phone when the battery goes below 80. I'm at 87, battery doesn't last a day. still holding out on upgrading tho
I bought this Iphone 15 + visible card making it $540 (including tax).
Will this iphone 15 last for another 4-5 years (in terms of slowness or battery life).
The phone is for my daughter (freshmen in college)
so debating if I should give her iphone 15 or iphone 17.
According to their site (which doesn't give much info) it says:
Any promotional credits offered will be reflected over 36 mos on the bill statement.
so we have to keep a plan with them to get the full discount?
What I did in the past was pay in full and ask them to refund the trade-in credits to the credit card I used for payment. I think you have to stay with Spectrum for 60 days to get unlocked (not sure if it is the case with iPhone), the credits can also be used for your plan bill.

If she takes care of it, it will last. My daughter used her iPhone 11 until 2025. Sure, sometimes you have to wait a second for something to load, but are we all that busy that we can't have a moment of patience.
