No. You need an impact wrench for that purpose.

I had the compact drill and this impact driver. I liked the compact size of each compared to the full size counterparts but I was very under whelmed with their power. Ending up selling them off, keeping the full size HP and getting a set of M12 for when I need a smaller size. Also, if I recall, they don't have the extra battery posts on the tool to take advantage of the "HP" batteries...

What were you using this impact driver for that made you feel it was too weak? I'm thinking of this bc I just need something compact to do things around the house.

Basement remodel. I wanted something more compact than the 3-speed brushless Ryobi I had to get in tighter areas. This helped with the getting into tighter areas part but wasn't nearly as powerful as the 3-speed. It was like a $40 price difference $129 vs $169 at the time to get the Milwaukee M12 brushless combo kit. In my opinion, it was $40 well spent.

Thanks. I just looked at it in store and it's not a whole lot smaller than the full sized Ryobi HP impact.

Depends. It should if it delivers the 100+ lb/ft of impact torque it claims. Mine does but not exact model.

My Skil 12V impact driver w/the 4ah battery can remove my car's lug nuts that are torqued to 80 ft-lbs. Is it ideal, no, because it takes a few impacts to get it moving. However, it does work. I did end up buying the Skil 12V impact wrench.

The Skil 12V brushless impact driver is rated at 1500 inch-pounds and is $34.99 at Lowes with a 5-year warranty.

I was taught to tighten lug nuts by hand and to never use an impact.

Eh, if this really delivers 100 ft lbs of torque it might work. Depends on who tightened them last lol

Since I have a torque wrench I torque them once they are on. And I check them again in 10 miles (at least making sure they aren't loose). I did have my lug nuts come loose once one time after I did my brakes. It was educational and informative!
