I didn't realize RAM prices skyrocketed the way that they did. I paid $380 + tax for 128GB of RAM (4x32) in February '25 that now costs $1500 for the exact same order from the same company (Amazon). It was not even on sale when I made the purchase. Wow, just wow. RAM > Gold in terms of price appreciation.

yeah otherwise you need to disable one CCD, this is basically an 8 core chip

To my understanding the scheduling is basically resolved on 9000 series 9900x3d/9950x3d. Even if you have double the cache, you'll still have inter CCD latency. As long as the scheduler keeps you within the CCD with 3d cache, and you don't have any other use case that heavily depends on onchip cache, then the 9950x3d seems fine as is. You'll have to wait for the 9950x3d2 to go on sale.

This deal includes the Coreliquid 240, not the 360, according to the listing:

Seems easier to just get a 14900ks, delid it, use liquid metal and custom water loop with 3 480mm radiators.
