The HoverAir X1 Pro Max bundle stands out as a compact self flying camera for quick follow me shots, casual vlogging, and family trips. The Costco package adds real value with two batteries, a charging hub, and a case, and the camera is praised for sticking close, tracking well, and shooting in real 8K with a bigger sensor and HLG HDR. It is also described as easy for kids and discreet to carry. The main limits are short controller range and less appeal for drone enthusiasts who want more manual control, while rough trail use can still lead to crashes or lost time. A strong fit when portability and hands free capture matter most.

Common Questions (5)

  • The Pro Max has a bigger sensor and HLG HDR, while the DJI Neo 2 is described as having better tracking and obstacle avoidance. The Pro Max is also positioned as a quick-shot self-flying camera, while the Neo 2 is favored for following through trails and around obstacles.

  • The Costco bundle is $399 after a $200 discount and includes the camera/drone, 2 batteries, a charging hub, and a case. It was also reported as valid online and in store through 12/31/25, making it a much better value than the earlier $700 launch bundle with only 1 battery.

  • It is described as easy for kids and better as a selfie or follow-me drone than a traditional controller-first drone. It can track you without a controller on handlebars, but controller-based landscape flying is limited by short range.

    chibigdog040

  • It can stick to a rider well and has reportedly survived crashes into branches and falls onto dirt trails while still working. A caveat is that it can also crash into trees on mountain-bike trails, which can interrupt the ride if you have to stop and recover it.

    chiMaroonEducation852

  • If the purchase was within 30 days, the price drop was refunded on the spot by showing only a Costco membership card. The prior purchase was verified without needing the receipt or the drone, and the refund included the tax difference.

Costco is currently having a sale for $200 off on this Hoverair X1 Pro Max bundle making it $399. Bundle comes with camera/drone, 2 batteries, charging hub, and case. Price good through 12/31/25, valid online and in store. I remember when the Pro Max first came out, it was $700 with just 1 battery. Then Costco recently had this bundle on sale for $600 with 2 batteries, charging hub, and case. Today I went to Costco and saw the $200 price drop. Because I had just bought it within the past 30 days, I only had to show my membership card. They were able to verify my prior purchase and refunded me $200 plus taxes right on the spot (I didn't have my receipt or drone with me). At the time of this posting, Best Buy sale price for this bundle was $620. Amazon was $600 with just 1 battery, no charging hub, no case. So, I think this is a fantastic deal from Costco.
This is my first time posting, so please be nice. Happy shopping!

Tempting at this price. I had one that i returned because it kept crashing into trees when i took it mountain biking. It took the enjoyment out of biking to constantly have to stop and find the lost drone.

Good price. Was considering this and neo 1 and bought the latter because of lower price and more versatile on control. I would still pick neo 2 at 259 because of omni direction obstacle avoidance and again lower price.

The Neo 2 has much better image stabilizer than Neo 1.
