This open box Zotac RTX 4080 Super White Edition stands out mainly as a white high end card with a strong cooler at a price that is hard to match in that color. Performance is described as roughly on par with a 5070 Ti, with the 4080 Super sometimes a little faster in raster or ray tracing heavy games, while the 5070 Ti is said to have newer DLSS features and better overclocking headroom. The main concerns are the open box warranty, Zotac's customer service and RMA reputation, and the fact that a new 5070 Ti can be found near the same price. It is a niche fit if the white build matters most.
PC builders who want a white high-end GPU aesthetic because the open-box 4080 Super is described as a "pretty decent deal" mainly for getting a white card with a high-end cooler at this price.
Gamers who care about having a full warranty on a higher-end card because commenters argue the open-box 4080 Super isn't worth it versus a similarly priced 5070 Ti, specifically pointing out that the 5070 Ti comes with a full warranty.
People who play older PhysX titles that use 32-bit PhysX because one commenter notes only games with 32-bit PhysX are affected (about 40 old titles) and that support for PhysX 9 was added via the latest driver update.
Buyers comparing value against a near-MSRP RTX 5070 Ti because multiple commenters say a 5070 Ti around $750 "makes much more sense" than paying more for an open-box 4080 Super, since performance is close and the newer card brings newer DLSS features.
People who don't want to deal with Zotac's customer service or warranty risk because commenters call Zotac "worst customer service" and warn to watch Zotac's warranty/RMA policy after reports of denied RMA behavior.
Gamers who only care about raster performance in a small set of titles because one commenter argues the 4080 Super's gains are only ~5% at 1440p and ~2% at 4K in TechPowerUp numbers, and suggests that if you only play games where it's barely faster, paying more for an open-box card with less warranty/driver support may not be worth it.
Buyers who strongly prefer PHYSX over frame generation because one commenter says they'd rather have PHYSX support than "useless framegen," implying this Zotac 4080 Super is a poor fit for that preference.
The RTX 4080 Super performance advantage over the RTX 5070 Ti may be small in some raster-heavy benchmarks, with results closer than "significantly faster."
In some ray tracing-heavy titles like Cyberpunk 2077 path tracing and Borderlands 4, the 4080 Super can lead or trade blows depending on the benchmark and settings. Across broader reviews, the gap is usually small, so the newer 5070 Ti's DLSS 4 and frame generation features can be the bigger advantage.
For pure performance, the 4080 Super and 5070 Ti are close, with the 4080 Super sometimes slightly ahead stock and the 5070 Ti often better for overclocking and newer DLSS/Frame Gen features. The open-box 4080 Super only makes the most sense if you specifically want a white GPU with a high-end cooler at this price.
32-bit PhysX is the part affected, which covers about 40 older titles. RTX 50-series cards reportedly regained 32-bit PhysX support in a recent Game Ready driver update, while the 4080 Super itself was still being discussed as lacking it.
Zotac's warranty and RMA handling are a concern for some buyers, especially on open-box hardware. The card may be cheaper, but the tradeoff is less warranty certainty than a new card and reported complaints about Zotac's customer service and RMA decisions.

and no PHYSX supportrather have that than useless framegen
I personally don't play any games that still use PHYSX, but didn't Nvidia just add PHYSX support for 50 series GPUs with their new driver update update GeForce Game Ready 591.44? I could be wrong but I thought I read that in the release notes.
No reason to buy this over a 5070ti5070ti is around the same price, nearly as fast, has newest dlss features, and you'll get a full warranty
RTX 4080 is actually significantly faster than the 5070 Ti in certain graphically intensive and/or ray tracing heavy games. Take a look at the Borderlands 4 benchmarks, or Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing, for example. The 4080 is way ahead.

Must depend on who's doing the benchmark. From the Tech Power Up Review: CP 2077 at 1440p the 4080 Super is slightly behind the 5070TI and at 4K they are matched: https://www.techpowerup.com/revie...oc/13.html
Overall the 4080 Super is 5% faster at 1440p and 2% faster at 4k, I'm not sure that qualifies as "significantly" faster: https://www.techpowerup.com/revie...oc/33.html
If you happen to only play the few games where is barely faster, then maybe it's working paying more for something with less warranty and driver support. The rest of us would probably benefit from having a fresh card with full warranty, full DLSS 4 support, and costs less.

Did you use AI to do the comparison? If you did you'll get the information you gave where it says the 5070ti struggles at 4K and the 4080 Super was running 4K. Only the 4080 Super had frame gen enabled, versus native with the 5070ti.
Watch a wider number of benchmarks and the 4080 Super and 5070ti trade blows generally being within 5% of each other so a maximum of 3-4 frames difference with the faster card depending on the game.
Straight raster performance the cards are neck and neck. But raytracing, frame gen, DLSS4, etc run better on the RTX 5000 cards versus the RTX 4000 cards.
There's no reason to pay more for a used 4080 Super card when you get still get a brand new 5070ti for the MSRP of $750. The 5070ti may run some future games that take advantage of its newer features that are new to the 5000 series as well.

AI? No, more like Hardware Unboxed's own benchmarks in their BL4 performance video:
Their benches consistently show the 4080 Super having a decent lead in frames, with average fps numbers that are closer to the 5080 than the 5070 Ti, in BL4, across a variety of graphical presets.

You're contradicting yourself there. First you say "the 4080 Super is slightly behind at 1440p," then in the next line, you say the 4080 Super is 5% faster at 1440p.
So which one is it?
Also, at what graphical settings? Is RT turned on? Is Overdrive enabled?

There is no contradiction, you're just reading too fast. I literally wrote "CP 2077 1440P the 4080 Super is slightly behind the 5070ti" in reference to CyberPunk 2077 benchmarks, and I posted the link to that page. Then I said "OVERALL" (meaning, multiple game aggregate scoring) it's 5% faster at 1440p and 2% 4k." and I again, posed a link to that page.
I linked to the review with the benchmarks so you can answer those questions yourself.
