This is a great unit
Probably more suited to a more medium space
I suggest checking out the owner's forum on AVS. Many of them have owned this AVR since its introduction in 2021
There are lot of tips and tricks that can be learned from those that have actually owned the unit for years
There is a high satisfaction from what I have read
I was certainly satisfied with my unit when I owned it

I am building a new theater room in my new house and want to know if I should upgrade to this RZ50 so it can have the newest and greatest. Here is my setup for what the home theater will have.
All speakers are Klipsch
Fronts are RF-7 ii
Center is RC 64
2 subs are RP1600sw
4 in ceiling speakers,
2 surrounds and 2 rear surrounds
Since I have the monolith 7 powering the mains is this rz50 overkill? If so what do you recommend? Thanks
I need to upgrade my old Harman Kardon AVR 2600
TBH I would say this isn't ideal for a few reasons.
Channels 10 & 11 are not assignable so 2 of the 7 channel on the Monolith have to power them.
It has no preamp mode, the internal 9 channels continue to draw power while using the external amps.
This has parallel(mono) sub out outputs.
The included Dirac room correction(DL) doesn't include Dirac's subwoofer/bass room correction(DLBC).
It does offer DLBC for $300 but the parallel sub out heavily restrict it.
I would suggest considering the Denon x3800h.
All 11 channels are assignable.
All channels have independent preamp mode.
You power your core/ base layer speakers with the Monolith, disengage those 7 internal amps.
Assign internal amps to power your Atmos speakers, benefiting from all the internal power.
It doesn't run as hot either because it's only using 4 internal amps.
All 4 sub outs are independent.
It doesn't include any Dirac room correction but it does offer all 3 they offer for a price(DL,DLBC,ART).
That's actually a good thing because Audyssey is very capable especially since they added directional sub setting.
It works under the same theory as DLBC/ART.
You also have access to A1EVO which gives you basically the same performance as DL&DLBC.
This is all included/free.
You will always have the option for Dirac, fyi you actually only need DL to get what this includes.

Got it...I personally have bought a couple of Arcam units sub 2K that came with Dirac onboard at no extra charge
But that was an isolated limited availability situation from a particular dealer that sold to me and few others on AVS forum significantly below MSRP
You can buy an Arcam AVR11 for $1999 at Best Buy..or skip up to an AV21( which I would do) open box for a little more..$2242.00
Dirac onboard at no charge and to my ears more musical than any the Asian brands.
Arcam, owned by Samsung, made in Vietnam

Bowers would fall under the same umbrella/situation as would Kef, in a similar situation, and a myriad of other brands
Really how many of these brands are owned by Samsung now
It was huge( owning Harman International) anyway but after the recent acquisition of Sound United, from Masimo, they are the 900 lb gorilla
On another note..its nice to see this great unit for the price, IMO, getting all this attention still 4 years after it was introduced
I owned the RZ50 for about 18 months , for a price similar to this, its a great unit
I swapped it for a Marantz Cinema 30 along with some Kef meta speakers during the BB/Magnolia blow out they were having in some stores
Otherwise, I would still be using the RZ50
