HT1510 and T9/X.Neither one was terrible, but similar or better performance can be easily had for 50% or less of their stupid pricing which clearly follow the Veblen Goods "outrageously inflate to impress the gullible simpletons" technique. The only thing REL subs really have over internet-direct sub specialist companies like Hsu, RSL, etc is form factor prettiness.
Let me guess this sub beats them all for $700.
It rattles windows, knocks everything off shelves, cracks walls & foundations!

Since you said, apparently it's gospel!

I'll just have to stick to my higher end reference speakers & subs while using ART!

No, you don't even need ART---more useless audiophool esoterica, whose only purpose is to make people feel more clever.

lol actually your the only one claiming "all in" doesn't matter.
It is not much better than some $300 speakers using this "decent" sub on some entry level AVR!!!

Apparently only your opinion counts because if we don't agree, what names are we again!?

We hear this same argument from soundbar fans ALL THE TIME!

All you're doing is telling us you're clueless about all this without telling us you're clueless about it!
Oh I have nothing against soundbars but I do find it nauseating that audiophool snobs cling to this childish dichotomy that either you go all out OCD overspending on esoterica and snake oil, or "just get a soundbar." YOU are exactly what is driving people into soundbars, giving them the bogus impression that if they want something audibly better than their $500 soundbar they have to spend multiples of that amount.

The Hsu VTF-2 MK5 is currently $759. How would you compare it to the RP-1400SW? This made me hesitant to purchase and I missed the deal.

LOL of course you don't, pretty sure you buy(& own) that pitch.

Actually you perpetuate it by pitching that some 11.1.4 "Atmos" soundbar is all you need because it gives 95% of what "all in" gives you!!!!

The funniest irony, one of the thee biggest reasons they don't come close is bass frequencies especially low frequency!!!!

I guess in your world they defy physics!

Didn't audition side by side but I would say pretty comparable.
Would mainly come down preference in performance.
Can't go wrong with either.

For me, I tend to favor 12" vs bigger woofer size(14"j & tuning may come in handy if you like to adjust for content.
HSU gives you 30 days, return cost is on you though.
That is common, same case with this.

Nope, I fully accept that some folks are happy with soundbars, but I'm not stupid or snobby enough to imagine that anyone who comes online asking advice for speaker buying is one of them. Doh. Do I really need to constantly restate the obvious with you??? Keep clinging to your infantile binary either-or audiophool elitism, lol

Once in a blue moon you finally utter something that's not drivel, congrats.

And if you were not such an obvious sucker for REL's gimmicky business model, you'd be aware of the fact that even a $340 sub like an RSL 10e crushes any soundbar sub and comes plenty close to some comical $2000 REL sub for the vast majority of non-audiophools.

The RP-1400 will be better in performance (how MUCH better depends on individual usage habits), but longevity of the amp remains to be seen since it's still a relatively new product. However, Klipsch generally is pretty good about providing warranty service, if you want to risk the PITA of possibly needing it in the future.

If you are not a confirmed basshead who likes to push your subs to or beyond reference levels, the Hsu is probably the safer choice.

LOL that's hilarious...!!!
You can "fully accept" a soundbar "pitch" but oh noooo RELs "pitch" oh that's craptastic blasphemy performance!!!!

BTW loudspeakers produce bass also, the better the quality loudspeakers the better the bass!!!
Those 3 minute speakers get crushed also!!!

LOL Well, I did pass physics!!

Please by all means tell how you "fully accept" how good a soundbar performs!?

While you're at it please tell us how that RSL 10e "comes plenty close" to the REL1510!!!! LOL
