Definitely stay away from REL. They give only a 3 year warranty because their subs are low quality and they know they dont last. One of mine developed a hum even when there is no signal. Of course I was out of warranty (just thought they would be 5 years, my mistake) but contacted to see if they can give me any help. I was hoping for a replacement amp for around cost but tgey wanted $400 plus shipping. Considering I got free shipping on the original purchase it would have cost as much for the replacement amp as the new sub cost me.

They had zero desire to help me. They give a shorter warranty so they dont have to cover the problems they create by cutting corners and they turn that into a profit maker by trying to overcharge for replacement parts. I will never buy REL again and would definitely not recommend them.

You're in for a treat. 2 of these for $1400 is a bargain - probably the best bass per dollar on the market.
I've been enjoying mine for over a year now.

Im really not getting into this. I just wanna throw out there that there that cost doesnt automatically equate to quality.I will also say I had always been disappointed in my 2 12" Rels and their customers service is absolutely terrible.
Well you're kinda alluding to my sometimes sarcastic points.

Excluding someone's "needs & expectations" which isn't a "majority" but determined individually.
Correct, like measurements, cost(either high or low) doesn't necessarily mean good or bad.
How well you properly implement it is the most vital.

The other big factor that is often overlooked is room environment.
Makes a huge difference if treated properly.

Unless you mismatched , 99% of the time it's one, some or all is the issue.

I understand people want shortcuts, there are none, have to put in the work for optimal performance.

Oh I agree with a lot of what you said but I will die on the hill that REL arent great subs and their customer service is terrible.

Im starting a home theater 2.1 build. Bought a pair of RP-500M bookshelves already. Saw the Onkyo TX-RZ50 on sales for $899 and might get that. Now between the SVS SB-3000 sub and this Klipsch sub. Any thoughts?

Looking for opinions on whether it would be worth it coming from the old SVS PB-2000 (non-pro, bought in 2013)

This sub ruined car audio for me. Nothing else hits 20hz as easily as my RP-1400. The box is probably tuned to like 25hz, this thing absolutely slams

Oh I have no doubt you will, often happens!
This whole silly(& fun) debate with ol zorbat1446 shows how staunch that belief is!

I run dual SB3000s in a fairly treated dedicated room.
People are always shocked when they find out, never gets old!!!!
ART solidified never needing to going back to ported!

Has jack to do with "properly implementing"---and everything to do with REL specializing in deliberately overpriced-to-impressed mediocre products aimed at gullible audiophools who have more money than sense!
LOL of course it's REL!
You also believe that your $300 speakers are nearly as good as an "all in" speakers!!!! LMAO!!!

I bought two of the 16" versions. Caution: the boxes came almost completely destroyed. They had holes in every surface and were filthy. Surprisingly, one of the subs was unharmed and the other had a dent in the side but did not affect performance. That said, Adorama offered me $25. I said "come get it." Adorama disappointing.

I currently have the old PB-2000 (non pro) and want to add the RP-1400 for a 5.2.4 system with a onkyo rz-30 avr. Can I combine the two dissimilar subs?

Importantly, two suns are almost always superior to a single one due to room acoustics and localized peaks and nulls.
