They had zero desire to help me. They give a shorter warranty so they dont have to cover the problems they create by cutting corners and they turn that into a profit maker by trying to overcharge for replacement parts. I will never buy REL again and would definitely not recommend them.
I've been enjoying mine for over a year now.

BTW all those soundbar owners that you have no problem with say you're blowing smoke up everybody's behind also!
For the price of this sub they get movie theater Atmos sound!
Your entry level setup is only 5% better(if that imo) with no need for a pricy Atmos AVR, big speakers(especially this subwoofer), worry of placement, wires, calibration,etc!!!
Sure seems like a lot of NORMAL people are going that route!
But keep telling yourself your boutique gear (e.g. REL pseudo-subs) that you naively let yourself get gypped for is light years superior, lol
The funniest part, they probably have a valid point.

At the time you bought it, you probably didn't know that RSL makes a similar sized sub the Speedwoofer 10S which has an ANECHOIC 3db roll off of 22Hz. And costs just $500 shipped to your door.

If you had previously owned a sub of similar caliber as that RSL, I doubt you would be so impressed by the Classic 98.
There is ONE area where the C-98 does win: the wood-color cabinet. RSL subs only come in black or white. Most of these internet-direct subs don't even offer white. But there are plenty of small sealed subs like the Rythmik L12 that would easily outperform that REL for much less money.
In any case, welcome to the world of subs. I've always found that a well-chosen $500 sub with a $1000 pair of bookshelf speakers will easily trounce a $3K pair of towers any day for movies, and be equal or better with music. Boutique salespeople and audiophools who comically overspent on the wrong things and don't want to experience buyer's remorse, will of course disagree vehemently.
