Something tells me that, given this is discounted $100 less than 6 months since release, this didn't "take the world by storm" like Microsoft thought it would. Doesn't help it doesn't play Xbox games.

It's a rebranded 6800U. Even worse than Z1 extreme. Better off with a 1st gen Ally

Less than 2 months. Came out mid October. This one just has very mediocre/bad performance compared to everything else in the market. It's on about the same performance as the steam deck. The main one (the rog Xbox ally x / the black one) sold pretty well even though it's overpriced. Performance difference between the two is very big.

It plays XBox Play Anywhere games.

Only games that were also released for PC/Windows, yes. That's not all Xbox games for the current generation.

I dont think that this is geared at the "performance crowd". The Steam Deck performance is fine for many people. However isnt going to take on the biggest games. The problem is that no one knows which games which device can play.

Of course not. And anyone buying a PC should know that. Microsoft has branded its PC gaming as XBox for years.

A non-techie customer may not be aware of this. Imagine a mom buying this "Xbox" for their kid for Christmas to play an Xbox-exclusive title that wasn't also released on PC.

Yes, Microsoft has been working on making exclusives less of a thing, but it's not there yet and plenty of games will say "Made for Xbox" on the shelf that are in a "not this one" scenario.

Valid point. But chances are the kid would be interested in a newer game. What Xbox exclusive hasn't been released on the PC in the past few years?

Z2 A = rebranded Steam Deck chip, not a 6800U.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lis...hitectures)

Z2 A = 4-core Zen 2, 8 CUs RDNA2
6800U = 8-core Zen 3+, 12 CUs RDNA2
