Also, if I recall correctly the eSim doesn't transfer to a new phone.

Another head's up: make sure your phone is unlocked. Verizon should unlock your phone automatically after 60 days, but T-mo only unlocks your phone on request, a minimum of 40 days after purchase, and only if your phone is fully paid off. And, since they've changed their policy, if you pay off your phone early, you lose all your bill credits. Also note that, at least for T-mo, you cannot unlock only the second eSIM slot (i.e. unlock early) and keep the T-mo eSim in slot one. For foreign travel, the uncarrier is unfriendly.
