To the expansion pack or the basic NSO? That's what I'm asking. I'm a NSO subscriber and am somewhat interested in this. But that's ridiculous if they hide it behind the much more expensive expansion pack. In addition to a hardware purchase. They should put it on regular NSO.

Edit: so apparently you can purchase it as an NSO member but you have to have the expansion pack to play the games. That is just incredibly stupid and greedy of Nintendo. But that tracks for Nintendo these days.

This is from the Nintendo shop's listing. It appears that basic nso is needed to purchase but expansion is required for games. I have family+expansion so I didn't even pay attention. This product can be purchased by those who have a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. To play games in the Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics, you will need an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

But being an online only item it's cheaper cuz you can't load games on this it has no hardware in it and no one would pay $300 if this was loaded

When do you expect the online shop to close down? It seems it should be available for quite some time. The individual games being available are a different story though, but I doubt they take up enough room on the servers to be an issue any time soon. I have honestly been in the market for a Virtual Boy in the recent past, but wasn't willing to pay the recent prices considering the added cost of the games.

Edit: I agree it is a bit of a novelty item though.
