There are no mention of IPS screen on HP support, Woot, Amazon or Adorama (who also sells this model) which is suspicious. I checked HP PartSurfer for this partiular model (BL9S0UA) [hp.com] and it shows "RAW PANEL 15.6 FHD AG SVA 250" as a replacement display. SVA stands for "Standard Viewing Angle" or TN in HP terminology as opposed to WVA (wide viewing angle) aka IPS.
It would've been a decent laptop for $300 since this model has 2 SODIMM slots (an extra 8GB is $20-25 on eBay), way faster than the other Ryzen 5 7520U (AMD Mendocino) deals CPU/GPU/RAM/upgrade-wise.
Advantage of this one is that it's new and a 58xx processor instead of a 56xx processor.
