That does not have the controller app built in, so you need a cloud key to control it. Any thing start with UXG needs a cloud key. UCG has the controller built in

U6 Enterprise (non-wall) is a new addition from the Black Friday sale. The 4x4 antennas on 5G & 6G is unmatched by any of their non-top end WiFi7 equipment. I'd buy this vs any of the WiFi 7 offerings

Absent from the holiday-offer page itself is the Cloud Gateway Max with 512GB SSD for $179 (regularly $279), and cheaper than the No Storage option that's still $199:

Given a 512GB NVME SSD costs ~$80 today, that's only about $100 for the UCG-Max itself.

Damn. Was hoping the smaller POE switches were on sale.

My mistake when I said range I meant coverage. Granted I really like Ubiquiti for the features I just wish they had more coverage in today's world. A coverage of 2000-2500 square feet would be much better than a 1250 square feet coverage.
This really depends on the environment though. I have a 2400sq ft house and my initial installation ran a single AC Pro central to the house on the upper floor and it covered everything. Not well, but it did (the extremes definitely saw more latency and slower speeds).

But my buddy has a 3000 sq. ft house and he needed 3 AP's to get good coverage.

The uxg needs a controller, while the cloud has it included. I don't think the UXG has the nvme slot either if you want to use it for cameras.

I'd suggest getting the POE 16 instead of 8...you should always get more ports than you think you need.
I originally had the same logic, but upon comparing specs, the Lite 16 POE only has 45W POE budget, versus 52W POE budget on the Lite 8 POE. I was like WTH, that doesn't make sense.

I'm surprised it can off all of that, particularly IPS @ 2.3 Gbps, on 25 watts of power (5V at 5A).

Not really, especially if you don't have any Wifi 7 devices yet like most folks. You're probably not going to see much if any improvement even if you do.
The LR models are beasts, especially in single AP deployments. If you are not currently maxing out your AP you will not notice anything.

I'm kind of annoyed...
I picked up 2x 6+ APs for $100/each during BF... Would have easily picked the 7 Pro's for an extra $100...

Cloud Gateway Max with 512GB SSD was the deal of the year! Its a beast and makes securing your network a breeze. The free IDS/IPS is pretty good. The Teleport is a mystery though.

I have UDR7 and theoretically it should cover all my needs, but I can't help but be tempted to buy this even though I won't be able to take advantage of most of the extra features.

Is Ubiquiti even worth buying these days over TP-Link Omada or Aruba Instant On?
In case this is an honest question, those are certainly challengers to Ubiquiti. I haven't specifically used either that you mention, but it's been my experience with anything HPE that support is tragic, and TP-Link is a more of a prosumer brand than a mid-sized to Enterprise vendor. I'd rather go with UniFi for the following reasons: 1. No hard requirement for a cloud account2. Consistent and known support 3. US-Based (their handling of their data breach a couple years ago was really bad though)4. Modular upgrades5. Advanced features when you need them, simplicity when you don't 6. Simple provisioningMy UDM Pro and 4 APs have been running for years with no intervention. So, I'll keep coming back for piecemeal upgrades when it makes sense!

Cloud Gateway run UniFi OS Server directly and has 1 GB additional RAM for that. The UXG-fiber OTOH requires a UniFi OS Server instance running on separate hardware. While the former is a simpler setup, I prefer latter as I'm not limited by the Cloud Gateway's hardware for UniFi OS Server.

Depends if the U7 Pro is still buggy. There were a lot of complaints.
Has any Ubiquiti AP had a bug free launch? You buy for the features, continuous development, and UX, not perfection out of the box.

Looking for advise from people with first hand experience, I have one AC Pro in basement and one U6 Pro on 2nd floor....U6 pro was a good upgrade with increase in speed and performance, except my iPod pro that now disconnects randomly.. I want to upgrade AC Pro but is it worth going with U7 Pro or XG?
I always go with the one that supports the highest simultaneous client count, unless you absolutely need range.
