Looks like 1x16GB DDR4 3200 SODIMM are selling for 40-50$ on ebay, new sticks on amazon are around 100$
Some people are finicky about their ram and want to buy new, but I think in these times it's worth it to buy used ram from any of the big brands - Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron, Crucial etc. (This is assuming you don't find any good deals on new ram)

I agree. 86$ for a new CORSAIR - VENGEANCE Series 1x16GB DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM is a good price imo

I don't. Found 2400 32gb kit for $90 though at office Depot and posted that as well.

Memory pricing is insane these days. Still hoping some ease in AI demand next year to support some price down.

These prices will stay or just go up for atleast a year right?

No crystal ball, but that is what's expected. On top of the real issues like the AI boom, there is the artificial issue of panic buying. People and companies are buying up RAM now out of fear. This is likely exasperating the issue.

The same thing happened where there were gas shortages in the US. On average, cars gas tanks are a bit over half full. Because of the shortage, people were not only filling their tanks earlier than usual, but also filling up spare gas tanks to have on hand.

Eventually this kind of spike corrects itself as things go back to normal. But for now, it makes the scarcity that much worse.

Many in the industry doubt it will be solved within a year, the estimate for right now, is for this to be bad (and probably get worse) for at least 2 to 3 yrs, until more capacity gets brought online or Ai collapses. The problem there is the memory makers don't want to bring more capacity online (would take them several years to do so) and risk getting stuck with the investment and over supply if Ai demand were to collapse. So basically everyone is between a rock and a hard place, besides the Ai industry, which is causing it since they have all the investments to do what they want, and also are willing to pay anything to get their way.

For right now, if you need this, it's not a bad deal. For those wondering how bad things have gotten, I bought a faster speed 96 GB kit from Crucial for $163 in July 2025.

I ordered the 32gb pc3200 ddr4 sodimm from them a few days ago to burn up my od/om/rewards gift/store cards before the going out of business sale.. It said I wont get them and a ssd I bought, until mid January.. Just a heads up.. They are just middle men on the stuff I bought, so I suppose the orders might get canceled.

I just checked my order for that ram and it shows "Processing arrives by Mon, Jan 26".

Also Look at the coupon page at the od/om web site. There was a $10 prepaid E-visa card for purchases over $75. I think there is a $15 deal on over $150, but it may be a ymmv on those..

I am out of od/om credits and since they stopped for the most part the battery deals, I wont be in the store all that often from now on..

In the past, even though I paid with rewards I get the gift cards if you have not discovered this. You could buy 1 stick for that coupon on 1 account, and get another stick on another account if you know someone who wont be using their coupon.

I read new owners are taking over, so I figure liquidation sales and store closing is just around the corner.
