Here's a fairly thorough review of this exact configuration. The screen brightness was deemed excellent and overall performance very solid. Terrible speakers and annoying fan noise the two major drawbacks.

The fan noise issue seems to a recurring complaint with 1xx Intel in the Swift laptops.

Can't find anything talking about battery life. Anyone know how it is?
Two articles mentioning battery life with links below. CNET says great battery life: "It lasted 12 hours and 40 minutes on our online video streaming battery drain test".
https://www.cnet.com/tech/computi...-promises/
"The Acer's 11 hours and 37 minutes of battery life was mid-pack but within expectations for a 14-inch ultraportable."
https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/ace...go-14-2024

The Meteor Lake processor supposedly is more power-efficient than predecessors.

I have had this for a few weeks and it has been working flawlessly. Even though it is a refurb it looks brand new

I've had a Acer swift 14 series laptop for 3 years, also grabbed on sale. I love this thing. I got one with similar specs at the time + a 3050ti for the same for $700 so I think this is a very good deal.

Highly recommend the Acer Swift Laptops.

I've been using the OLED version of this (same CPU, RAM etc) for a year now. Much of the fan noise issue is likely due to the Acer bloatware like AcerSense. For me, uninstalling AcerSense and disabling most of the Acer background services helped reduced the times when the fans are spinning by like 75%.

Link [reddit.com] to the services I disabled.

The same 2 year old apu that was in the original MSI Claw.
  • Way worse performance, in games, than AMD's Z1 Extreme... Might be a little better in this laptop if power limits were raised.
  • Also, very power hungry. Intel states that Max Boost can go up to 115w. That's crazy. Especially for a small laptop like this. Wonder if its power limited to keep the fan from blasting off.
  • Looks to have USB4 ports, which is great for using eGPUs for more gaming performance. 👍

Cobbling together details about this model was a bit of a pain. Found info indicating 1440p webcam resolution and WiFi 7on this page. Webcam resolution was nowhere to be found on the actual specs page.

Most of the rest of the noteworthy specs are here: https://www.acer.com/us-en/laptop...1#pdpSpecs

Decent breakdown/test of the CPU here. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Int...323.0.html

Does anyone know definitively if the RAM can be upgraded? I've read conflicting statements on this!

It's using LPDDR5X that usually means the RAM is soldered and can not be upgraded.

A thunderbolt/USB4 enabled external graphics dock, a thunderbolt/USB4 cable, a graphics card, and a PSU.

Been waiting over two weeks for Acer through Ebay to ship my laptops. I'd steer clear of them both.
