Can the added line be an Apple Watch?
i'm not going to pretend to be an expert but the answer is definitely not. those watch and tablet lines are different and these free lines cannot be used for watch/tablet. only work for cellphones.

I starter with the simple choice 4 lines promo ages ago. Kept that ever since and just added the free lines. Wife and 2 kids Mom Dad Brother Sister in law Aunt No free phone. Just the free line pays for itself.
Same here magenta plan with 8 lines for $96 bucks with 4 free lines and 4 pay lines with insider discount but no advantage for phone deal !!

Consolidation remove. Port out paid line AAA-AAA-AAAA to a temp carrier, paid line is auto cancelled --> port in AAA-AAA-AAAA over free line BBB-BBB-BBBB. Now free line is AAA-AAA-AAAA and you are down 1 paid line. Whole process could be done in an hour, but I recommend over a day or two just to make sure your temp carrier has full control over AAA-AAA-AAAA before porting back to T-mobile.Some major caveats:1) You must maintain the same number of lines or more for 1 year since you added any free line promotions. Dropping below the count may result in losing the free line promotion.2) Your SOC must have a minimum of 2 base paid lines. A few older free line promotions required an extra set of base paid lines, so the min for them is 4 base paid lines. Dropping below this number may result in losing a free line promotion and the free line becoming a base paid line.
Is there an easy and 'official' way to determine when the last line was added? Does the port back in over the free line have to be done by an agent?

How can I take advantage of this? I haven't "qualified" for a free line in almost 6 years.

Current plan

T-Mobile 1 (One)

2 paid lines = $100

1 free line (2018) 0

Internet 50

One line has insurance 18.xx

My bill is about 170$ a month most times.
The last few times I called and checked they said I wasn't eligible?

If $50 internet comes with a free cell line, that would be a big deal.

your soc plan might be FRLTUL2LP. To get free line promos, you need to be on the 1-8 or 9-12 lines plans

I have 7 lines for $120, 5 are free lines; Myself, my wife, my wife's work phone, my daughter, my son in law, my father, one spare right now. With another line my in-law's could get on our plan too. Wish I didn't miss out on the last one.
Free for how long?

1) If you know how to use the web inspector functionality of your browser, you can read the network packets of the promotions page and see when each one of your promotions began.
2) Look at your promotions page and get the promotions IDs. Search on reddit to see when those promotions took place. Add a month as cushion since you may not have registered for the promotion at the same time as the reddit post.
3) Ask a CSR. You may have to explain why you are asking.

I'll try with them. They haven't been very supportive to me at all lately. We've jumped carriers a few times, but I've literally had them since 2001, voice stream. I'd be nice to get more from them from time to time, considering since this new CEO took over and it feels like Verizon In a magenta colored sheepskin
