I have 7 lines for $120, 5 are free lines; Myself, my wife, my wife's work phone, my daughter, my son in law, my father, one spare right now. With another line my in-law's could get on our plan too. Wish I didn't miss out on the last one.
What about tax ?

Free for how long?
Forever (or until T-Mobile renegs, but people have had these free lines for decades now).

I guess I could raise my bill by $33/mo, lose T-Priority, and get a free line.

Forgive my ignorance....
How?
And why? What are you doing with the free lines?
Are you getting a free phone with the line?
What is the benefit to 9 lines?
I do like the $120 part though.
You get a auto pay discount for every line you have on the account even if its free. So you end up making money on the free lines.

I'll try with them. They haven't been very supportive to me at all lately. We've jumped carriers a few times, but I've literally had them since 2001, voice stream. I'd be nice to get more from them from time to time, considering since this new CEO took over and it feels like Verizon In a magenta colored sheepskin
yea you really missed out tons of promos. i have been with tmobile since simple choice plans were available. then i switched to one plan. thats where the free lines started to pop up. i have 4 paid and 7 free lines. last eligible free line was back in march of this year and i didnt qualify the other 2 from earlier this year. im guessing that i wont qualify for any more free lines this year.

EM does not include taxes nor fees unlike G5G+. 33 + taxes and fees.

You might be able to get T-Force to move you to regular G5G+, but you may have to play agent roulette.

I have some paid lines on my SC family plan ($10 for additional lines)
If I want to start using a free line instead, should I cancel a paid line now or should I wait until after I've gotten the free line? (Or does it make no difference)?

tmobile said its forever, but they actually put a date on it. for example the insider discount is suppose to be for the life of the account. I had discovered from developer tool on my account page that tmobile put a year of 2099 on the discount. Tmobile figured that no current account holder is going to live through year 2099 ? lol. as soon as tmobile finds out that account holder passes away, technically, they can close the account ?

if your paying $100+ a month now, your better off getting 10 lines for $100 from tmobile business. or a new essential plan 4 for $100

I would loose Canada / Mexico roaming and calling for free, current hotspot allocation per line, and taxes and fees won't be included, they may charge per-line taxes. They may, I don't know for sure

If you are on FRLTUL2LP, that's not the fault of T-mobile. You are literally capped at 3 lines max on that SOC, so you would have never gotten selected for any free line promotions. You would need to request a SOC change, and be very specific about which SOC, before T-mobile might take action.

Gotcha. Then yes, there was never an override for that 3-line cap. You must migrate to something else if you want to add any more lines, and generally only the most current plans are available to switch to.

In retrospect I realize that this doesn't directly answer your original question, since you were already planning to switch. I just felt it important to re-state for anyone else reading that the FRLTUL2LP plan is definitely maxed out at 3 lines. In fact they only allowed the 3rd line later; originally it was quite strictly "2 lines for $100, that's the deal take it or leave it" hence the SOC code there. I don't know what the "FRL" part means but the rest means "T-Mobile (one plan), UnLimited (data), 2 Line Promo"

Are the free line promos only for existing TMobile customers? I am an AT&T customer with 10 lines (8 phones, 2 watches). We have been considering a switch to TMobile. Any chance we can take advantage of free line(s) during a switch? Thanks in advance for the advice.

How do I begin that process of "requesting" a new soc? And what are my options here
