Reddit has a rumor [reddit.com] that T-mobile will offer a free line to certain accounts starting tomorrow, Dec 11. Segment will be Loyalty BYOD Dec 2025, promo code ID250791 / SP158. No other info or qualification requirements available at this time.
If this does come through and you are eligible, get it ASAP. T-mobile does not announce end dates of their promotions, so it can end at any time.

I guess I could raise my bill by $33/mo, lose T-Priority, and get a free line.
How?
And why? What are you doing with the free lines?
Are you getting a free phone with the line?
What is the benefit to 9 lines?
I do like the $120 part though.

You might be able to get T-Force to move you to regular G5G+, but you may have to play agent roulette.

If I want to start using a free line instead, should I cancel a paid line now or should I wait until after I've gotten the free line? (Or does it make no difference)?

Gotcha. Then yes, there was never an override for that 3-line cap. You must migrate to something else if you want to add any more lines, and generally only the most current plans are available to switch to.
In retrospect I realize that this doesn't directly answer your original question, since you were already planning to switch. I just felt it important to re-state for anyone else reading that the FRLTUL2LP plan is definitely maxed out at 3 lines. In fact they only allowed the 3rd line later; originally it was quite strictly "2 lines for $100, that's the deal take it or leave it" hence the SOC code there. I don't know what the "FRL" part means but the rest means "T-Mobile (one plan), UnLimited (data), 2 Line Promo"

If you are on FRLTUL2LP, that's not the fault of T-mobile. You are literally capped at 3 lines max on that SOC, so you would have never gotten selected for any free line promotions. You would need to request a SOC change, and be very specific about which SOC, before T-mobile might take action.
