That's wild I bought this last time it popped up on here and it's been incredible. Are you by chance using a regular measuring cup instead of the one that comes with it? An American measuring cup isn't the same as the 180ml cup that come with rice makers.

Is this made in Japan? How does this compare to the typical, older style rice cookers they have?

Bought this for $350 when I was stupid one day. I don't see what all the fuss is about, comes out mushy a lot of times, even after adjusting water and looking into correct ratios. If I had to purchase one again I'd go for the one that has an outside water tank and automatically dispenses how much water is needed!

Nonstick and the associated chemicals are correlated with adverse health outcomes. You want stainless steel, glass or uncoated ceramic.

I got this last summer from Target with a PM and coupon for $199.
It is made in Japan
I only use it for GABA brown rice after I used to use instant pot, my rice is perfect every single time, and much healthier!

Instapot has stainless steel. Not in the same league but it's what I know.
