I'm packing up my Target bought AirPods right now. It's a shame Target ditched their PM policy to other stores. Such a waste. But saving $20 is saving $20.

OP probably doesn't care for the more lively bass heavier (not heavy) tuning compared to the 2s. I love the sound of the 3s, but sound is largely personal which is why so many headphones and buds come with equalizers.

I've owned every variation of the Pros and the 3s are by far the best yet. The sound is not THAT different from the 2s but the noise cancellation and in-ear fit is appreciably better plus you get the heart rate sensor and foreign language translation features.

Bought them the day they were announced. They're excellent and $200 is a great price. No regrets

AirPods Pro 3 stand out for stronger noise cancellation, a better in ear fit, and longer battery life, with extras like heart rate sensing and live translation. The foam and silicone tips are also credited with improving the seal, which helps both sound and ANC. Sound quality is the main tradeoff, since the tuning is described as less neutral than AirPods Pro 2 and fit still varies by ear. A solid upgrade if comfort and ANC matter more than pure sound.

buyers who can use store price matching to hit the $199 level because multiple commenters said Best Buy can price match the Walmart deal (often via chat) and that it worked for them.

iPhone users who want Live Translation features and are on a compatible iPhone because commenters noted the translation performance depends more on the iPhone than the earbuds, and Pro 2 also supports it on newer iPhones (so you'll get the feature if your phone supports it).
Stephen.HY-SD
people who already own AirPods Pro 2 and want noticeably better noise cancellation and a more secure in-ear fit because commenters who've used multiple generations say Pro 3 is appreciably better on ANC and fit, even if the sound difference is smaller and personal.
spec2
long-flight or bus-commuting iPhone users who care about battery life because one commenter chose Pro 3 for slightly better ANC plus about 2 extra hours of battery life, while noting Pro 2's case has more charges for times away from power.
Djdneidhheb
workout-focused buyers who struggled with AirPods Pro 2 staying in during exercise because a commenter said Pro 2 "doesn't stay in" for workouts and they'd trade some sound quality for Pro 3 if it stays put without extra attachments.
drwx
people who want to upgrade from AirPods Pro 2 to Pro 3 at a small price gap because one commenter said they upgraded last week and it was worth it "considering the price difference."
ldnola1

people who prioritize sound quality over ANC/fit because some commenters said AirPods Pro 3 is a major step backwards in sound quality versus Pro 2, and others returned Pro 3 because it sounded worse than the 2s.
TheGoodWillOut Gamerxx13 araragi
people who have had comfort or fit problems with AirPods Pro 3 because multiple commenters reported poor fit/comfort (including "too fat" fit) and said they returned them or wished they fit better.
baller1308 MrGreed araragi
buyers who are relying on Walmart delivery/fulfillment to go smoothly because commenters reported Walmart issues like order cancellations/delays, delivery problems, and even receiving damaged/empty packaging.
KawiNinjaZX JC_SB imvp408
buyers who need the earbuds to stay secure when straps/gear move near the ear because one cyclist described helmet straps grazing the earbuds and making them loose, and they compared it to other earbuds with different tip shapes.
drwx
people who are expecting Live Translation to be broadly useful because one commenter said Live Translation wasn't useful for many people (and noted Pro 2 also supports it), so it may not justify the upgrade for everyone.
HY-SD
people who are sensitive to ear pain or have had adverse comfort issues because at least one commenter reported ear pain lasting over a day and said they were scared after reading about multiple replacements still having issues.

Common Questions (5)

Yes, Best Buy can price match the Walmart $199 deal through chat or in-store, and some shoppers also used rewards, certificates, or promos to lower the final price further. One limitation mentioned is that Best Buy may only price match one item per order.
CharlesCCC FairPolice796 excuse_me fwg
AirPods Pro 3 can fit more securely than Pro 2 and stay in better for some ears, especially during workouts and long flights. Others still report poor comfort or no improvement, so fit remains highly ear-dependent.
spec2 drwx drwx MrGreed
Sound is not a clear upgrade for everyone: some prefer the Pro 2's more neutral, open sound and wider soundstage, while others like the Pro 3's bass-heavier tuning. The Pro 3's bigger gains are reported in ANC and fit rather than sound.
TheGoodWillOut spec2 Gamerxx13 MrGreed
Yes, the Pro 3 is reported to have noticeably better noise cancellation than the Pro 2. The improved seal from the foam-and-silicone tips is a big part of that gain, and it also helps with fit.
spec2 Hans_Gruber AquaHeat219 Djdneidhheb
The translation feature depends more on the iPhone than on the earbuds themselves, and Pro 2 can also support it with an iPhone 16 or newer. Pro 3 adds the feature, but the phone model is the key requirement.

thanks for the tip. do you use any of the 3rd party hooks or just the oem earbud tips? i'm a cyclist, so the problem for me is that if my helmet straps even graze against the external part, it moves the airpods just enough to make them loose. i had similar issues with some jabra 85t earbuds a few years ago. they had oval shaped earbud tips (similar to the airpod pro 2s) instead of round like most earbuds.

I don't use any additional accessories, but then again I don't have any straps hitting to worry about. They stay in place really well in my ears after cleaning. That said this would be a case to case basis as some people might have very oily/sweaty ears where it might get oily/sweaty again even after cleaning. I e had other earbuds too and Apple does a great job of keeping the center of mass as close inward and low as possible with their design. Others stick out too much with too much weight and the physics doesn't work.

Can anyone confirm if this price is still running if your local store has any in stock? (or your region of WM.com)

Shows OOS for me but know WM.com inventory is regional.

BB price matched for me. It's a good option if you want to trade in an old pair. Got $30 for a pair of Gen 1 pros

I got through Walmart vs Costco as I was able to get Allstate warranty coverage for 4 years at $29 and Allstate covers water damage and I don't believe Apple care does.

in ear fit is appreciably better? these are the most NON-universal Airpods to ever be released. There are a large group of people who not only cant wear them because they fall out (a common complaint in past models) but these people cant wear them because of how uncomfortable they are. Ive owned every variation as well and these are the worst. The chip after 3 years stayed the same, they slightly changed the sound signature, and improved the ANC only via the material of the tips (this has been stated clearly by Apple numerous times). This same harder foam is the reason why it takes weeks before some people notice the discomfort from going away. Returned mine and bought a spare set of Airpods Pro 2 for $120 on Black Friday. No one cares about heart rate sensors or foreign language tracking. The APP2 is a more comfortable set of headphones with a more neutral and open sounding sound signature (based on the 10-15 reviews i read before purchasing from audiophiles not tech sites). APP3 are tuned with a similar frequency to Beats headphones aka for people who dont know what they are listening to with treble being laughable above 50-60% volume. Glad the APP3 worked out for you but i suggest everyone on the forums to test both the APP2 and APP3, the price difference is so small that you would think buying the newest product would be the correct move, until you try it out you wont know. Even with this sale, Id pay $50 less for the superior headphones, the APP2 or wait a bit for an even bigger sale.

While certainly not majority lots of people found Live Translation useful. Besides it's supported on the Pro2 too.

Fit and comfort is subjective. There's lots of in depth comparisons to help you figure out which ones fit your needs like https://www.rtings.com/headphones...-pro-gen-3. I use them primarily for long flights/ bus commuting and the slightly better ANC and more importantly the extra 2 hours of batter life was what made me decide to go for the 3's. The 2's have more charges in the case so if you are doing something like camping and away from power sources then that may be valuable.
