Don't. It's so sugary and disgusting, you're better off just warming a jar of prego with your own noodles. Their "meat balls" tastes like cardboard and adds nothing.
Well, if you are stocking up for a "what if", I wouldn't worry too much about it.

This is nostalgic, might wanna get it just for that, at this price, gezuz

But the point is:

DIY pasta (cheapest setup):
Dry pasta + canned tomato sauce + onion/garlic.
Batch-cooked, this comes out to roughly $0.40–$0.60 per serving, with far less sodium and added sugar. Add lentils or an egg and you match the protein for a bit more. The catch: time—shopping, cooking, cleanup.

Chef Boyardee deal:
This 4-pack works out to about $0.56 per can, or ~$0.28 per serving (2 servings per can). Zero prep, zero cleanup, shelf-stable. That convenience is what you're paying for.

The real economics:
If you're poor, money is more valuable than time, so you often have to spend time cooking to eat better for the same cost. DIY wins long-term.
But if time is tight—or you need cheap calories right now—this deal can still make sense.

Bottom line:

Short term / emergency / pantry filler → This deal can be worth it.

Long term / daily eating → Not a solution. Ultra-processed, high sodium, low quality; contributes to poor health and obesity over time.
Use it as a stopgap, not a staple.

I think the fact that these are on 1st page of deals at the height of the Christmas season tells you everything you need to know about our economy right now.

Years and years... It may get a bit more mushy than normal, but canned food safe to eat way past it's best by date.

I once ate canned sardines from the 70s with no ill effects, so probably multiple decades.

Oh, I don't plan to eventhough I'm always looking to save money! Some dry pasta and jarred sauce will do just as well. I like pesto sauce.
