... and as a result the price is lower compared to the newer version (45GX950A-B) that has 5K2K resolution but lower refresh rate.

I have this one it's not bad text wise if you are back a bit. Looks great in games but really 39" is about really the max it should be for this resolution.

I had this one for productivity, and gaming, and put about 5000 hours into it. I upgraded to the 5K2K for a total of $1325 a few weeks ago. I was in the middle of playing death stranding director's cut and I didn't see much improvement from 1440p to 5K2K. Maybe its because it's an older game ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I'm playing cyberpunk now and it's very pretty at full resolution. Hitting about 60fps with a 3080ti after following some reddit thread with recommended settings.
I did notice a serious improvement for productivity though. I was fine with the abysmal 84ppi on the 1440p now that my eyes are older but the 125ppi on the 5K2K alone was worth the upgrade.

That is probably the ideal use case. I'm holding out for a 4k glossy or semi glossy version like this in future but I'm not sure with a curve at this size if they'll ever release it due to reflections

LG is such a garbage company I honestly would pay more to get anything else.
