With all these mobo deals etc you d almost think the industry is conspiring to get around the RAM price issue by artificially suppressing the price of other components. Probably because they know that otherwise no one would be buying at all.

There's going to be headroom to lower product pricing, unless they're building it for cost because they attach a subscription service to it. They're just going to lower the price to make a smaller profit than no profit at all if the demand is weak due to other component pricing being high.
