I've used a few PowerA controllers for Switch/Switch 2 (still using my GameCube version since it released years ago) and latency is on par for any other Switch controller. I don't notice any latency when compared to an OEM Pro controller.
They're OK. Most 8bitdo controllers now have either Hall Effect or TMR joysticks, so stick drift will never happen. These PowerA controllers still use standard potentiometers, so they could develop stick drift eventually. My PowerA GameCube controller is still working perfectly after several hundred hours of Smash Ultimate.
All 8bitdo controllers are rechargeable while this one requires two AA batteries.
Not sure if firmware updates are even a thing on these controllers, but my PowerA GameCube controller from 2019 works perfectly with Switch 2 (doesn't wake from sleep though).
In any case, this is an excellent themed "player 2" controller, but for the same price or even less, you could get an Ultimate 2C.

I see these PowerA controllers on here all the time. Anyone done tests regarding latency, etc?

How do these compare to 8bitdo ?

I've had multiple PowerA Switch controllers and they have all been shit. I had the Fusion controller which had multiple things fail. Then I bought some wired controller for my kids, and those were breaking in six months.
OTOH I now own three 8BitDo controllers and all three work perfectly a year and a half later.

This is great for occasional use. The finish isn't smooth like stock controllers so your fingers will get irritated from the rough surfaces if you play anything intense or longer durations.
You're really buying this for the Triforce symbol, there are so many better controllers out there for the same price with broader machine compatibility.

I have this. It's nice to hand people who aren't gentle on tech this controller instead of licensed gear. That said the D-pad on this is terrible, but other than that, no real complaints

The official switch wireless pro controller has the least latency period for switch 1 iirc.
Power A wired controllers introduce an unacceptable level of latency for most people even vs their own wireless model. I still found them (wired) okay for many single player games.
