I assume the 5060 GPU is the 8GB version since it doesn't say it in the description. The 32GB DDR5 RAM is the dealbreaker and the free monitor is a bonus.

The real dealbreaker is the i5. For this price, you can get an i7 with a 5060Ti 16GB DDR7

Got a link to it? It better not be an expired deal or behind a membership paywall like Costco.
"Better not" ? - this site is getting hostile, Merry Christmas! lol

What do you want DDR4? The deal breaker is the 8gb 5060, and the I5.

How is the RAM a dealbreaker? The cost of the RAM brand new is like half the PC lol

This seems like a decent deal with 32gb of RAM with the option to upgrade the GPU later. Would be great for a starter gaming pc for as a Christmas gift.

This or https://slickdeals.net/f/18955600-asus-rog-g700-gaming-desktop-intel-ultra-5-225f-rtx-5060-16gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-799-99?src=category_page ? OP deal has more RAM while the other has a newer CPU, but half the RAM. GPU and SSD are almost the same.

Best price at the moment. Cheaper than diy for same parts. Especially with the monitor.

Anyone who actually understands PCs knows this is a solid deal. You don't need an i7 or i9 to game. Most games use a few cores, and almost everyone is GPU-bound, not CPU-bound.

Tech channels benchmark CPUs at 1080p low with a 4090 and then argue over 3–4% FPS differences. In real-world gaming (high/ultra settings), the differences are negligible to non-existent. By the time you reach CPU limits, you'll be upgrading anyway.

Spending hundreds more for 3% gains and extra cores you'll never use makes no sense. Even for productivity, unless it's your full-time job, waiting a few extra minutes isn't life-changing.

Wild that people on Slickdeals push others to overspend chasing tiny gains instead of actual value. What does it matter if you get 10% off when you're paying double or triple for features that you don't even know how to take advantage of?

Often times it is cheaper to upgrade when you need it, than it is to get the "best in class" of that generation because you "might" need it. 99% of people who think they might need it, definitely don't.

To be honest it's mainly a deal because of the free monitor, take that out and it's just a mid deal like all the other 5060 deals around this price. Include the monitor and it's like $780 for a 5060 build which is solid, especially because Skytech tends to use better parts than other prebuilt companies. Mobo is good but PSU is just 100W short of being usable for 70-class GPUs.

You are right i5 vs i7 doesn't matter but look at reviews for Ryzen chips, there's a surprisingly big difference between something like a 5800X and any of the X3D chips with more L3 Cache. After you get ones of those then yes it does drop off but there is a noticeable difference with and without it even playing at normal non-CPU testing settings like 1440p Ultra. Not to say non X3D is unusable, but the difference does exist which doesn't matter that much for mid level under $800-tier systems like this.
