They have screwed this product completely. Added a bunch of fees. What used to be $30 a year is now $45 or so with fees.. Buyer beware

no, you can not stack them. one year at a time, if you use a new renewal if overrides the last one, they don't add on to each other.

My plan activated in middle February a few years ago and kept renewing. I didn't realize last year they renewed it in January, taking away a month. And also the fees too they added. But at least this plan doesn't have the fee unless it renews later.

Red Pocket's $30 annual plan stands out for unlimited talk and text with 200MB on the GSMA network, and it can work well as a low data primary line or paired with a separate data plan. The eBay listing offers physical SIM, eSIM, or renewal, with free shipping and fast email delivery of activation codes. The main catch is cost creep, since taxes and fees can push renewals to around $45, and the plan appears to be tied to AT&T compatible phones. Activation is also time sensitive, with a 90 day window and no stacking, so any renewal overrides the current cycle.

Common Questions (5)

  • The checkout price is $30, but taxes and fees can push the effective cost to about $45 on renewal. Buying through eBay can avoid the extra website recovery fee, while auto-renew on the website may add roughly $12 plus taxes.

  • This listing is GSMA, which points to AT&T service and requires an AT&T-compatible phone. The older $30 plan was on T-Mobile, but this one appears to be fixed to AT&T rather than letting you choose another network.

  • It can renew for another year, but it does not stack on top of your current term. Activating a new renewal overrides the existing plan and can forfeit any remaining time or balances, so it is best used when your current cycle is ending.

    djbillsSUCHaDEALjellysandwichdkd711

  • Mid-cycle data top-ups are available at $5 for 1 GB of 5G data or $10 for 5 GB of 5G data. The added credit does not roll over to the next cycle, and Red Pocket says it does not charge pricey overages when you run out.

    champsonLightningDemon

  • Hotspot use is asked about but not confirmed in the comments. Apple Watch support reportedly requires an extra $5 add-on, bringing the total to about $7.50 per month with this plan.

Do you know when this promotion ends? I'm not back to the states until late March, it only has 90 days to active the Sim card.
It's a new plan, doesn't say it's on sale so if it's like the old $30 GSMT plan it's regular price. Still, even if you buy it now, 90 days from now brings you nearly to end of March. At most you lose 7-10 days. Might be worth it? You decide. (90 days from today is 3/17/26.)

Can the data be used for hotspot? I only need a little per month to feed my gate camera. I use an old beater phone and just leave it down there. Using Visible now but this is cheaper. Tracfone is cheap but won't let me use the data for hotspot.

My current RP plan expires in a couple of weeks... Auto renewal is a little more expensive plus fees. If I buy this via ebay can I just use it to renew/extend my existing plan? Any problems or tricks to doing so?
Thanks

Helium is great for a second line but may not be around for a year, these "free" plans tend to suddenly disappear. For $30 you are guaranteed a line for a year with unlimited talk and text.
The tracking is also concerning. Granted, all carriers collect data. Maybe look into US Mobile's 2 GB plan? It's much cheaper than Helium's paid plans and still has unlimited talk+text. It also only is reduced speed after 2 GB, I think.

US Mobile doesn't require an upload of govt ID and a facial scan for activation as does Helium.....

Much cheaper getting Renewal on ebay. Ship it to your beach house address, code comes via email, 24-48 hrs max.

can this stack? i.e. buy twice for $60 for two years?
Hi there! To continue with the same plan, you can use the renewal option, which adds the next term to your current cycle automatically. This way, you don't have to stack plans or worry about managing multiple purchases.

If anything is unclear or if you need assistance with your renewal, our eBay team can guide you, or you're welcome to email us at [email protected].

Is there an eBay RP Renewal/extension specific product? (If so, where?) OR, can I just buy any eBay RP plan that matches my current plan details? If so, what steps then to install/update phone? Confused
THANK YOU

If you find an ebay plan similar to your current plan you can buy that one or if you want to change plans you can. Choose renewal in the drop down box, it just means no sim card is sent to you. Your new plan is whatever the ebay listing says. You have 90 days from purchase to use it or else you lose it. When your current plan expires, apply the activation code that they emailed to you to your line under your account.

What will happen after the 200mb data is used up?
Hi there, this plan includes 200MB of data each month while the plan is active. However, data add-ons are available directly through your account, so you can top up as needed.

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] where our team will gladly assist you.

How soon before the expiration of the current cycle can we add the renewal? For example, as a new customer, can I buy one SIM Kit and one Renewal now, activate with the SIM Kit, and then add the Renewal right away, to get 2 years of service?

no that wouldn't work

you have 90 days after purchase to activate the redpocket plan. when you do activate it, it overrides your current plan meaning you forfeit any time left
