You want battery powered lights? Pick one:
1. Bright with short battery life.
2. Dim(mer) with longer battery life.
FWIW, I own one and compared to most of my battery powered lights, including the Mr Beams 'egg shaped' lights it's fairly bright.
Sure, it's not AC powered. Can't have everything.

AC powered is the way to go. Solar power if AC power not possible. "D" cell battery operated, is this the 80's

Are you implying something is wrong with D-cell? Big Grin
Got a bunch of NiMh D-cells that have been around 10+ years and still ticking. They work.
But they are not cool anymore, yup.

Got to be wary of 'solar power'. In cheap devices the panel is puny, often terrible at charging.
Well chosen and sited they can be OK. I've got a few of those supporting 18650 powered lights.....but......in the winter they get minimal charge, even with excellent exposure placement, and the lights get used MORE. So, I've actually added an external plug for occasional charging. Easier than opening them up to do that.

AA in a D-holder is pretty pathetic. 3xAA in specialty holders is way better, but the holders are pretty low end plastic semi-crap.

I do wish more devices would go to lithium, but there is the little issue of wide spread lithium ignorance. Hell, the ignorance about batteries in general is significant.

These are very bright. Excellent. We had a power outage in Gatlinburg and the lights are very helpful when you go outside
