Looks like a pretty solid deal. Any known drawbacks from this model that anyone has seen or experienced? From the digging I did was battery life and fan noise. Didn't know if anyone had some personal findings.

wow that's a serious gaming laptop for the money....official factory refurb makes it a much safer play than "refurbs r us" at the corner strip mall Embarrassment

I ordered mine on Dec 2nd, reached out to their customer care yesterday and they said it would be shipped in the next 2 days...

May be worth getting it at full price for brand new at BB, but I am a cheap a**.

Well, I think we're starting to see a lot of these go refurbished because they run VERY hot. Like 95c at idle with fans in helicopter takeoff mode. I had one for a month and it performed alright, but I was too concerned about long term health at those temps.

Has anyone that you heard figured out any solutions like repasting or undervolting or anything? Or is the cooling design just that subpar?

I purchased refurbished from Acer via ebay. Having 32GB of RAM in Ramageddon is priceless. The rtx 5070Ti is a good match for tge screens resolution. The OLED screen is locked to 240Hz, that's one big reason why the battery drains faster than other gaming laptops. I keep the fan profile set to Turbo Auto Fans. The fans are loud in that mode, but it's also a gaming laptop. Besides tbe battery life the other down side is it's a 115watt 5070 Ti instead of a 140 watt.

I was wondering if it was a full wattage card or not so even with your turbo fans do you see thermal throttling while gaming? And what is ramageddon? Lol. Are ram prices crazy again? I haven't really been paying attention

I haven't noticed any thermal throttling. Highest GPU temp I've seen is 83*C. That's with no cooling pad.

Here's a great review.

Yes, RAM prices are crazy right now. Some kits cost more than the entire laptop.

I believe it's recommended to store them flat instead of vertical. PS5 has a similar issue when used/stored vertical since it also has liquid metal thermal paste.

I got a brand new one from Best Buy last month. Had to return it. Like people said it runs loud and hot. That wasn't the deal breaker for me. I don't know if it's a QA thing or what but the display switched to the dynamic Optimus setting even though I manually selected dGPU always. Moreover the display would go blank and the system would crash multiple times a day when moving between apps and programs (eg if I alt-tabbed out of BF6 to google something the display would go black and the CPU would go unresponsive). Despite software/driver updates and troubleshooting I could not resolve the display issues.

At this price point I think it's a good deal for the specs. But I think there's also a reason that they're putting these refurbs out at this price point.

I have this laptop for a few months now. I don't game but I purchase it for a powerful video card and RAM to run chrome tabs, watch 4k videos and stocks. I purchased this knowing that the battery life is horrible (2.5-4hrs if youre lucky) with light usage. This is a desktop replacement and I do have it running on a knockoff Illano cooling pad; works great. I haven't had any issues yet. I love the screen. I use it along with a 55" 4K curved TV as a monitor. You can NVFlash it to 140w. I find 125W performed better in 3DMarks.

I am crossing fingers they will update BIOS to allow 60hz. Mixed reviews says it's not possible due to hardware limitations but I believe another manufacturer Asus? used the same display and figured it out.

I received mine 2 days ago and the laptop restarts randomly every 2 to 5 minutes and sometimes locks up completely. My 2 cents worth is these must be returns that the original owner must have had running full throttle so to speak and something is now melted on the circuit boards. I am now in the process of sending it back. Make sure you take pictures of it before you return it as they want pictures.
