Regarding the banjos listed here: They are clearly stated that they are beginners instruments and probably fine for that purpose. Just understand that when you start to learn and gain any proficiency you will be (should be) highly motivated to move on to a more quality instrument that will be more playable and have a much better sound. Trying to continue your learning process on a beginner's instrument such as this will definitely eventually hold you back.

If you're going to drop $700 on a beginning banjo, my advice would be to check out the Recording King line. $700 will get you a far better beginning and even possibly intermediate banjo that you would probably keep much longer.
