YUP. They get hot and then the plastic breaks and it won't read anymore. AVOID.

I've bought a few of these before -- love the super slim profile, looks great, this is a great price.. but these things get HOT. Not sure how that affects the device it's plugged into, but just leaving this here as a warning. Even when I've just had it plugged in, not reading/writing content, if I try to grab it, it's hot. I haven't had any negative issues from it yet, but I'm currently just keeping it in a DVD player a media playback device because I don't trust it in my higher priced devices

I would consider 130 read and 90 write to be too slow for me. I want at least 300 read, and want write to be 150+. Especially for a 256GB or larger thumb drive.

The Samsung Fit Plus has more metal in its body than the Sandisk and gets less hot. And can do 400 read and 100 write

I use the Samsung Bar Plus wherever I can because its larger metal body serves as a heat sink

I have a couple of these, hated them compared to the Samsung USB drive I have that is similar size but slightly larger. The Samsung never gets hot, and the loop doesn't crack after a while. This is about $13 cheaper than the much faster Samsung FIT Plus USB flash drive. So, it still could be a good value.

all my usb drives still work and it's been many years, they seem to last a long time and are pretty reliable?

Is this one kind of slow? what's like a decent speed then?
