They do offer the option of paying more upfront if you don't want the hassle of using a prepaid card. For the Unlimited Starter:
"Pay $270 up front, then receive a $151 prepaid card at activation with code SWEETER119. Or get a sweet deal of $149 at checkout with code SWEET149"
And for the Unlimited Premium:
"Pay $390 up front, then receive a $211 prepaid card at activation with code SWEETER179. Or get a sweet deal of $239 at checkout with code SWEET239"

Although as someone else mentioned, one caveat is that you're stuck on the Dark Star for a year which is AT&T service. The 50% off Multi-Network add-on (which I assume makes the cost from $7.50/mo -> $3.75/mo) would be worth getting since it allows your phone to use T-Mobile and Verizon networks in case AT&T sucks in your area.

They give out regular MasterCard prepaid cards for their referral program so likely the same.

"The line must be activated, and stay, on our Dark Star network."
Unfortunately, ATT sucks in my area. Otherwise, seems like a nice deal.

Does this combine with their 30 day trial?

Probably gonna switch anyways away from Mint as this is much cheaper, and Mint doesn't really offer any incentives to stay with them

May I ask why? I got the 167 and happy with it, and interested in another line but I don't see this as better unless ATT is better in your area I guess?

Great deal if you are cool with att. I just bought my starter for 199 on att like 3 days ago and activated yesterday. Wish I would of known. I was about to do starter for my wife on verizon (what we both had before). But I like the flexibility of switching networks if needed.

Be cautious about the multi network aspect of US Mobile deals that require you stay on certain networks x% of time.

Details can be found in the terms or the previous darkstar deal.

We have a few lines on b1g1 deal and a couple watch lines. The web/app interface is easy to navigate and very straightforward. Service works well and customer service responds to questions very promptly and effectively.

Man! That really sucks. My plan ends in 1 week, and I've really enjoyed my switch from Mint to US Mobile, but I need to keep my number, so I'll be looking for something else, I guess. I don't think companies should be allowed to limit present customers. I know the deals couldn't be as low, but they would average it out. Most customers probably don't search deals anyway and just let it renew.
