Study the anatomy of the brain with this brain dissection kit!
  • Providing an excellent hands-on life science activity for middle and high school students, this complete brain dissection kit comes with:
  • a preserved brain specimen,
  • a photographic brain dissection guide,
  • a #22 scalpel,
  • a magnifying glass,
  • and a dissecting tray.
  • Closely examine this organ to learn about structures of the brain, such as the cerebellum, cranial nerve, and so much more. As students dissect a brain specimen, they'll even gain a better understanding of the human body's nervous system and human anatomy as a whole!
  • Home Science Tools recommends using disposable gloves for all dissections.

Note: Specimens are initially preserved with a formaldehyde solution, the best animal tissue fixative. The formaldehyde is then displaced first with water and finally with a glycol solution to produce a moist, low-fume specimen which will not decay over time.
  • HST Specimen Guarantee
  • In sealed, original packaging, our preserved specimens are guaranteed to remain fully preserved and free of decay for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • Once the original package is opened, use specimen within one month. For best results, observe the following storage procedures:
  • Store specimen in heavy-duty, zip-lock bags to minimize drying between dissections.
  • Specimen will slowly dry out or become contaminated in zip-lock bags; add a teaspoon of Specimen Holding Fluid to retain moisture.
  • Freezing or refrigeration is not necessary and may damage fragile tissues.

Out of the the 100,000+ deals I've seen on slickdeals in the last 15 years, this is definitely the first brain dissection kit I've ever seen.

Nature's Workshop Plus has a sheep brain kit too but comes out to $32.70. Also is just the brain, no scalpel and kit. Weird discussion going on here. 😀

Very unique indeed. I wonder how they classify this for shipping.

Quote :
Organs are classified for shipping based on their potential risk of containing infectious substances. They can fall into categories such as Category A, which includes those that could cause serious disease, or Category B, which includes those that do not meet the criteria for Category A, and must be packaged and labeled accordingly.
