I saw similar comments in the Lowes reviews. Waiting for my package to arrive to see if the battery is any good. Wondering if they were seating on a shelve so long that they discharged and now in a bad state to even accept a charge.

Just try charging both batteries and got a steady flashing red. Guess that's why they are on clearance. Now need to return and make a trip to Lowe's

On a different deal from Amazon I got a similar battery. I followed the instructions in a thread here and jump-started the battery and it worked.

mine got delivered and 2 dead batteries. Blinking red as soon as you hook it up to the charger. Multimeter shows one Battery is at 0.06 v and the other one 0.00v. Part # on those starts with 2020 - so I think they been seating on some shelve for almost 6 years.

I bought the 8 tool with one battery. Battery goner. B+D = B@D = BAD

Suckers dumping defective product, knowing fully well. Has Lowes become the new Woot? The ****ers at Woot sold defective batches of Rachio controllers that were known not to connect to WiFi. What a pain it was to install, uninstall and buy a working one and install again.

Same here. 2020 battery. Jumpstarted it. I contacted BD customer service last deal and they sent new batteries but it was a lot of back and forth emails

Please post the instructions to jump start, i have same issue. Lowes doesnt have replacement.

batteries can't charge out of the box. I tried to jump start it with 9V (or anything above that, but less than 20V) battery, it works. Just connect the positive to positive, negative to negative for 5 seconds. And connect the battery to the charger, should work..

I purchased this and the 8 piece matrix kit and both sets came with all 3 batteries bad. 2020 and 2021 date codes. I got them to charge by jumping them with another B+D battery I already had by following the YT video.

I also received two dead batteries but was able to request new ones under warranty by submitting a request here: https://support.blackanddecker.co...quests/new

Use "Request Type = Warranty" and filled my info and attached a photo of the batteries with the serial numbers on them. They then replied by email the next day requesting a receipt and shipping address and phone number. I looked up the online order and used print details to save the output as a pdf and attached it to the email. You can probably get it all done in one request if you provide all the details in the initial warranty request online. B&D support responds fairly quick. Should have new replacement batteries in about a week via UPS. They did say I can dispose of the dead batteries so I will try to jump start them first.

Yeah, finally opened this on Xmas, and both batteries DOA straight outta the box... did a chat with customer service... he barely even questioned it, and they are sending out two new batteries. Going to try the jump start thing now... I have a 3 amp 20v B&D from my weed wacker... So maybe I'll wind up with one battery per tool!
