I highly recommend oil filled heaters over infrared or any fan ceramic heaters. Do your research! Fans make noise, dust, mếch isues later, and móst of all, creates FIRE HAZARD !

Don't agree w/ oil - Ceramic heaters are direct heat and will work for most small spaces, they are safe, all have tip-over protection, no noise, not heavy, no mess and work for years.

- Dust
These type of heaters have to be cleaned, just like a fan. Plus the environment they're in have to be cleaned since the dust isn't coming from nowhere.

- Mech issues
I have multiple ceramic heaters from top brands and even one from Amazon, that has lasted multiple years. If you use them 24/7 on high and never clean, then maybe yes they'll have strange issues.

- Fire
If an electronic lacks safety features (ie. Turning off when insufficient power is available for draw) and pulls too much power from an outlet, a fire could happen. Overloading causes wiring to become too hot and that allows conditions for a fire. Wires can have lower tolerance than a circuit breaker. This is not an issue exclusive to space heaters.

Anything that produces heat requires a bit of common sense to use. If you're an adult and living in a region that has cold seasons, you should be plenty comfortable with using space heaters. You should also be reading the instruction booklet when you purchase something like this. If you feel you're not able to do it safely, just use your central heating and pay the premium. Otherwise the rules and safety are the same for all of these, cheap or expensive..
