I highly recommend oil filled heaters over infrared or any fan ceramic heaters. Do your research! Fans make noise, dust, mếch isues later, and móst of all, creates FIRE HAZARD !

Don't agree w/ oil - Ceramic heaters are direct heat and will work for most small spaces, they are safe, all have tip-over protection, no noise, not heavy, no mess and work for years.

- Dust
These type of heaters have to be cleaned, just like a fan. Plus the environment they're in have to be cleaned since the dust isn't coming from nowhere.

- Mech issues
I have multiple ceramic heaters from top brands and even one from Amazon, that has lasted multiple years. If you use them 24/7 on high and never clean, then maybe yes they'll have strange issues.

- Fire
If an electronic lacks safety features (ie. Turning off when insufficient power is available for draw) and pulls too much power from an outlet, a fire could happen. Overloading causes wiring to become too hot and that allows conditions for a fire. Wires can have lower tolerance than a circuit breaker. This is not an issue exclusive to space heaters.

Anything that produces heat requires a bit of common sense to use. If you're an adult and living in a region that has cold seasons, you should be plenty comfortable with using space heaters. You should also be reading the instruction booklet when you purchase something like this. If you feel you're not able to do it safely, just use your central heating and pay the premium. Otherwise the rules and safety are the same for all of these, cheap or expensive..

The red led light is always on when plugged in even when heater is turned off. So, you will need to double check if you turned it off or not.

Fans do make noise, add a point of failure, and use additional electricity. And if you want a fan that's quiet and/or more reliable, it's going to drive up the cost of your heater.

On the other hand, they increase the convection aspect of the heater. They disperse the heat across the room more quickly. And they should result in the room being heated more evenly.

Fans aren't good or bad. They are what they are. And they have pros and cons. You need to know what the use case is before you can recommend with kind of space heater to get.

I disagree. Fans are the devil's handiwork. Like Red Vines.

Trust Lasko as a brand for heaters. Remote would be nice, but other than tip-over protection, I like a timer. You know it will always shut off at night or if you forget before leaving the room or house. Nice price on a good brand if you don't always think you left the heater on when you leave the house and have to drive back just to make sure! Smilie

Bought this in 2022 for $45, so not a bad price 3 years later. It does a great job heating up a room quickly, plus remote and timer! Smilie

For how quickly these pay for themselves, I just buy new ones and relegate the old ones to antifreeze duty. But yeah these cheap ones have cheap fans and the bearings seem to wear from the type of excessive use these things see. I guess most I've had that got noisy started to do it after 2 or so seasons.

One safety feature missing from this model is the tip over switch (automatically shut off when tipped over). IMHO it is a must have for any tower shaped space heater due to its high center of gravity. I would skip this model for that reason.
